So my g35 headset snapped when i tried to take it off today and now I am in need of a new headset. I thought I would ask what you guys would recommend?
I know there is some other similar threads but they were a few years old and much happens in that time.
I would prefer analog(3.5) but USB can work, I have no set budget but cheap is always welcome as long as quality doesn’t suffer.
lol I was totally going to post G35’s until I came in and read your post. the join breaking seems to be a really common issue on the G35’s, I’m paranoid and retract them every time i put them down to reduce the stress on them o.O
i started out cheap then went up and up, i havent gone anything apart from razer headphones because im just another fan boy.
currently using Tiamats https://au.razerzone.com/razer-tiamat-7-1 only problem is actually getting your hands on a pair, there constantly out of stock, but the audio is sublime, you will need a audio card that supports 7.1 though. really comfortable, 0 background noise, mic is a bit twitchy and needs your tweaking to get it right but it good quality, and the sound they make has blown everybody away that ive showed them too.
i had a set of Megaldons which treated my good for a long time too. good audio, good mic, incredibly comfortable. then i gave them to my mate so he’d have a mic to actually use.
there the upgrade version of the Carcharias too.
I’ve had a pair since Christmas, they are incredibly comfortable, retractable mic (a great feature as I only use the mic while multiplayer gaming/VoIP, which is only ~25% of my time on a PC), and with the right soundcard (I’m using Xonar DX) and quality tunes (lossless or 320 kbps) music is just a great experience.
Edit: by the way, these are USB OR Analog - they include an in-line USB soundchip in case you don’t have onboard or a decent soundcard; I opt for analog, of course, but hey, now you have options i.e. for a laptop.
I’ve been interested in the tiamat. Do you know if they are compatible with thx trustudio? And It says on the page that you need a soundcard installed, but do you think I can use my onboard card, it has all the ports.

And YES audio quality really does matter to me. But I’m not sure i can afford a good sound card as well as that headset atm.
