Happy 25th Birthday to one of the most vital parts of my (and I must assume many of yours) childhood, the Nintendo Entertainment System! This day in 1985 it was released in the USA.
What are some of your cherished NES memories?

Ignoring its existence as I was born after it was irrelevant.
Playing Mega Man 2 at my neighbor’s
My mom beat Mario Bros. 1 before me
Blowing in the cartridge to get the damn thing working
I learned to count very young while playing Mario Bros… by looking at the time, and the score, and asking constantly “what’s that number”
And since the scores went in the millions, I knew my numbers up to millions (and more) before 1st grade or something…
Defeating Ganon in Zelda and Bowser in Super Mario Bros.
I have more memories of the SNES.
Damn good console though.
my older brothers not letting me have a turn because they were convinced that I’d just die and waste one of their hard earned guys…
Anyone raised on video games is a fucking loser, or a resident of the state of California.
wow, the NES is 25 years old? damn, that means it had been out for 6 years by the time I was born. My earliest memories of the thing were playing Ms Pac-man, dying in Paper boy (damn those storm drain grates!), The zapper (still the only pistol peripheral I’ve ever used with an unmistakable “KLAK” when you pull the trigger), trying to shooting the dog in Duck Hunt, and Mario Bros. Believe it or not, my family STILL has these games/Peripheral, and they STILL function like it’s 1998.
I’ll always remember (and still play):
Micro Machines
Snake, Rattle, & Roll
Tecmo Superbowl
Jaws
Rampage
and Spot
Wishing I had one, so I could play SMB or Zelda I.
Damn being a teenager. My generation sucks and doesn’t have the classic consoles.
Just get an older brother, that’s how I got mine
Because technology walked in and beat the tits off of those obsolete plastic husks. The same happened to playstations and N64s.
Get an Intellivision, faggot.
Looks like we’re all being affected by this recession huh
I still play my NES from time to time. Looks fucking ridiculous on a 42" LCD though.
My earliest and most cherished memories are those of playing River City Ransom with my cousin and my brother. Still love that game to this day.
wanna know something funny, newer LCD televisions can’t play games that use the Zapper.
Kabuki Quantum fighter, man, that was THE game for NES
I still have lots of Nes cardtridges =O
