NES Suggestions

The Goonies 2. I don’t know how it is regarded now, but back then it was really expansive and a major challenge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h174ElaRlK0

No love for Megaman 2?

Any (all!) Ducktales games, River City Ransom/Streetgangs, any SMB game, Gremlins 2, the Zelda’s, Mission Impossible, Rollergames (pretty obscure, but good!), TMNT 2: Arcade Game, TMNT 3: Manhattan Project, New Ghostbusters II (note the new, that’s important!).

Just curious, what type of TV are you using?

I’m now wondering what NES games look like on a HD screen.

Super Mario Kart SNES actually looks pretty crap on my HD screen. :frowning: Might be due to the SuperFX graphics.

Right now it’s connected to a very large HDTV in my living room until my game room is completed. I have a roughly 30-inch CRT waiting for it.

Shit.

EDIT: Wanted to thank you guys for the continuing suggestions. I’ve been out on family vacation. But these have been useful!

What the hell, no love for Kirby’s Adventure? It’s one of the best (and best-looking, it even had parallax scrolling) games for the NES.

How could I have forgotten about that game. I freakin’ loved it!

Partly copypasta from my post in a previous thread:

-Micro Machines (One of my all-time favorite games)
-Rampage (really fun with a friend, kinda boring without)
-Snake, Rattle & Roll (probably my favorite NES game of all time)
-Contra
-Of course Super Mario Brothers (1 & 3)
-Tecmo Super Bowl (With a friend only)
-Chip 'N Dale Rescue Rangers
-City Connection (sort of, if you’re bored)
-Spot (good time waster with friends)

Oh, and Duck Hunt if you manage to find the zapper.

Really, nobody else here played (or liked) Crystalis? :frowning:

Here is a video with the beginning of the game. Mind the audio only coming out of the left speaker.

and

any Ninja Turtle game!

FIXED

Seriously, the first Turtles game is a nigh-unplayable POS. It’s pretty telling when a Game Genie is practically required to finish the damn thing.

I used to love Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on NES. Of course, it’s easily been fifteen or sixteen years since I played it, and it could be that the novelty of Power Rangers (which I loved when I was five-ish) and NES (as I wasn’t allowed to have consoles growing up) are overpowering my impression of an ultimately shitty game.

DUCKTALES TIMES 10,000! It was rated as high as SMB3!!! Also, Kirby was good, and I really liked this hard to find game Gyruss. It had a unique system, where you rotated around the screen as things are coming toward you. Sorta like galaga, but way better enemies, music, and control system.

And I’m out for the next few months.

The most underrated games that most people have never heard of, I would say are Little Samson and Trog. Little Samson for it’s creative gameplay that is even fun for today’s standards, and Trog is fun on the higher levels with 2 players.

I have Duck Hunt and a Zapper, my problem is that the Zapper barely works on my HDTV and that I need to connect my NES to my CRT TV as soon as possible.

…I liked that game… Actually that reminds me that I need to get a Game Genie.

They made a Power Rangers game for NES?? That’s a must-have, no matter how shitty (if it does exist).

Aaaahhhh, wait… it was SNES wasn’t it. My bad. Like I said, it’s been like 16 years.
