The Wiki is updated by fans. It isn’t something the devs do.

Are there any details known about the NDA, like, why it was even needed in the first place? Is Valve helping out with development now? It just seems strange, especially since in the past it was considered important that this be distinguished as a fan project and not related to valve (which is why the name changed from BMS to just BM, right?). Sorry if this has been discussed, but searching for ‘NDA’ returns no matches for some odd reason.

Telling you the details of the NDA defeats the purpose of the NDA.

Yeah I realize that, I should have worded my question better. I was just wondering if anything had been said about it in general, how it became common knowledge that an NDA was signed, when this happened, etc.

It would be neat if you Devs could give us some insight into what happened behind the curtains when the NDA is eventually lifted. I’m sure it’s fairly interesting. :freeman:

Does anyone know: is it standard practice for Valve to require an NDA for Greenlit games?

According to the Greenlight FAQ it is indeed standard practice. Go figure.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
