I find this very interesting that they have found water molecules on the Moon.
Since they found water on Mars first.

There’s still probably less than a drop of water on the entire moon.
No, I think that there is a lot in the interior of the moon from what I have heard.
This thread made me thirsty. goes to get glass of water
Ahh, refreshing!
Yeah. I just woke up and drank two glass of water.
So now we now that if you wake up on the moon, there might be a chance you can get a glass of water?
India spent 45 million pounds to do this?
And yet the country itself is in a terrible state?
wait WHAT? water on the moon?! BLASPHEMY
in all seriousness:that’s awesome!
Water molecules are pretty much everywhere, it’s a fairly basic molecule. There’s no abundance of it on the moon though. There’s probably more water in your body than there is in a cubic mile of the moon.
Has anyone read the comments to the original NASA article? They’re hilarious!
Genius.
Edited to add: Wtf is houling anyway?
The moon is only good for making waves and illuminating the streets so rapists can see what they’re doing.
It’s also kind of small.
Space colonies would make alot more sense if there was oxygen anywhere else than here.
There’s plenty of Oxygen all over the place; it’s a very abundant element. The trick is freeing it from the compounds it’s locked up in.
And making sure you can contain it well enough so people can breath with it.
And then there is the fundamental issue of why you want to build a base on the moon. What service does it serve that is so important that the money spend elsewhere would not do more?
You could always make a prison farm on the moon.
I’m a visionary. Ahead of my time.
Just like Hitler and his “prison farms”.
Oxygen and hydrogen on the moon? How did this happen!?!?!
Some speculate that the moon was actually once a large piece of the planet that by some means was sent hurtling into space. They think it probably came out of where there is now a body of water which has eroded over the place where it used to be.
There’s certainly some holes in that suggestion and I’m not sure how much proof there is to back it up. i think it’s more likely that it came from somewhere else in the solar system.
