Musicians

Surely there are plenty of musicians in this forum. Come in this thread, talk stuff about instruments, techniques, and what ever goes within the topic boundaries.
To start… I play drums and harmonica myself. Just started getting onto jazz drumming style, it’s hard, I’ll tell you that. Also planning to learn to play guitar during this year.

I play drums, guitar, and I’ve been borrowing a friend’s keyboard for a few months.

Jazz drumming isn’t hard if you know how to feel music.

I’ve played drums for around 3 years, and guitar for a bit over a year. I have a picture of me playing drums in the Post Your Picture forum. I might post a picture of my guitar in a bit.

I’m not a musician, I can just play instruments.

I play keyboards but I’m not very good since my hands aren’t independent. I tried to practice them but I just don’t have techniques to do so. I know my keyboard perfectly, chords, notes, stuff like that all learnt by myself. All I need now is to practice my hands.

I would also like to learn how to play guitar but since I’m lefty and my dad only has right-handed guitars it doesn’t go so well.

Go Jimi Hendrix, mane.

Or save up and buy a lefty guitar, I suppose.

Music production is a lot of fun.

I’ve been making music for over a decade now.

I don’t care much for the performance side of music, but I’ve been thinking about getting a Harpejji:

It has a great sound and an awesome layout.

Hmm. I play dem musical things. Recorder (that count’s, right? :stuck_out_tongue: ), Piano Grade 6, Saxophone Grade 7, a bit of flute and clarinet, self taught guitar, and very limited experience with a drumkit.

The only pic I’ve got atm;

.

I have a drumming style that is creepily similar to that of Blake Richardson of Between The Buried And Me. I could listen to him play drums all day.

bass. I have a crappy Squier P-bass, but I’m looking to upgrade to a mexi j-bass as soon as I have some cash. I’ve been watching craigslist a lot lately.

I should try it.

I was a drummer way back when I owned a set. Right now I’m just a would-be or something.

I tried out for a few bands to be a metal vocalist, but no go. I really wowed this one band, but they went with an old friend instead. And then I lost my voice for a few years… :frowning:

I dunno how hard it’d be. I suppose it’d feel more natural with a body contoured for an actual left-handed person.

Anyway, my keyboard:

My guitar:

And my drums:

Nice guitar :3

Edit: Oh you fixed it :stuck_out_tongue:

My keyboard:

Yamaha DGX-205 too-old-to-be-vista-compatible

I’m Piano, grade 6 aswell.

Lmao. I said that too when I saw it.

Whoah, I see I poked at a hornets nest.

I’ve only been drumming for two years, without consistent training and I just recently started playing jazz. Recently as in today. I suspect not everyone is a natural, eh? Oh well, nothing a couple of months of playing won’t fix. I’ll post a pic of my “set” tomorrow.

My drums are 420 miles away :’(

Back in the day, I used to play a lot of brass. Cornet, Flugle Horn or Baritone. I cringe when I think about this - but I used to be in my old school’s Brass band so what I’d play would change depending on what spaces needed filling. Was normally on Baritone though. Yeah the regret is still with me today. It’s a nifty skill though. Definately.

I would like to learn the basics of Bass playing - but I can never seem to bring myself to do it

I’ve played keyboard for 2 years, and guitar for about half a year. The guitar has a special cord, wich you are supposed to plug in to the computer, but since that shit is fucked up, i have tu use my brothers crappy Hiwatt amp.

I need a new drumset - my old one is fucked :frowning:
