In recent years, thanks to the speed of communication over the internet, I’ve found great artists just a few years after they’ve split up and joined separate less-talented projects.
There is more than a hundred years of recorded music available, a lot of which was made by well-known artists who were extremely talented. You don’t have to do a lot of searching if you start with the big names.
I currently have about eight hours of music from Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer). This is not enough. Any solo pieces out there from him?
Random songs where he makes a cameo?
I’ve listened to a lot of the big names. I feel as if I’ve wasted my time.
Not Paint it Black, but everything else the Stones have made was quite a massive waste of time.
Also, the truth:
Please allow me to introduce myself,
I’m a man of wealth and taste.
[COLOR=‘Black’]Next on the queue of bickering aimlessly:
- Ruby Tuesday
- Mother’s Little Helper
- then I run out of Rolling Stones songs and move onto Eleanor Rigby
No, I’m still correct.
Wild Horses.
Richards is the only factor of the Stones that makes them bearable. Too bad that Jagger’s shit voice and style ruins nearly every song they made.
Damn Belgians are crazy!
But fuck that, do you like shoegayse/post-rock/new wave/whatever

can you enjoy experimental music?
Like you know ANYTHING about moosic.
Ummm… a friend had me listen to this:

Does it sound like 2020s dystopian reggae to you guys too?
Call it what you want. All I can’t stand is not the sound of it, but the fact that every song pretty much only uses a few simple chord progressions.
System of a Down.
So you can’t enjoy music as a sound, it HAS to be complex wankery or otherwise it’s just not good enough for you? Fuck emotionally gripping sounds, there is not enough chord progression, the musicians aren’t fiddling their fingers everywhere. It’s the skill of the player that matters, not the end result?
You are a giant fucking hipster who doesn’t enjoy music it self, but uses it to create a social image for himself. You are SO fucking high-brow for listening only classical.
Fuck off.
The song you showed me was just the same sound over and over again. So if you’re asking me if I don’t enjoying music as just a sound, then you’re quite right.
You do have a point, that often composers can try too hard to show off their knowledge or skill making something too complicated that sounds like shit. But, slapping together a few sounds and calling it music is just as bad. Not to mention repeating the same thing over and over again.
That song was nowhere near emotionally gripping. If you want emotionally gripping I suggest you listen to Mozart’s 21st Piano Concerto. I used to be completely ignorant of classical music, this is the song that got me interested.
You’re wrong, I enjoy music very much. In fact I enjoy it so much, I take piano and theory lessons. I appreciate it, when someone has taken effort to compose their song. Also when someone has taken the time to make a good song, it is apparent. You don’t have to wrestle with yourself saying “Yeah, it’s kind of good.”
There are rare gems everywhere. Classical music has been around for a long time, so we have found most of them. That doesn’t mean that I’m not pleasantly surprised every once in a while by genres I think to be garbage.
