I’m looking for an MP3 player.
I need:
-good audio quality
-physical buttons (next/previous song, volume, etc.)
-FLAC playback would be nice
-nice battery life
I don’t need:
-video playback
-touch screens
I need to keep it under 70 bucks!

I don’t think that plays MP3’s.
sansa clip
fixd
Yeah I would agree with that. I have a sansa fuze and it has everything you asked for. Audio sounds good as far as I can tell. The headphones I got with it were ok until they broke and I got a pair of Sennheiser CX300II.
I was told that the sansa clip interface was sluggish. Is this true?
So, clip vs. clip+ vs fuze vs fuze+, who wins?
GoGear by Philips…
It has many versions…
Here’s a Philips site… https://www.search.philips.com/search/search?q=gogear&s=consumer&l=us_en&h=consumer&o=
You can read the description of the product…
The battery life? Pretty nice… It takes days… mostly 3 for me… But I use it almost all the time…
Hope this helps… I’ve been using mine for about 2 years… It’s still decent…
on my clip+ it’s not sluggish with the original interface
not when i installed Rockbox either
clip+ rocks!
how’s the battery life?
anything that can run rockbox except ipods is awesome
even a sansa e200 series can run rockbox, and it has a nice screen and micro sd card reader
Well, if you want good sound quality and flac files on board you should definitely avoid Apple iPod’s. These things have a little over 70dB Signal to Noise Ratio. This covers something about 12bits of music bit depth which means if you play any track at 16 bit (which is the lowest you can find and anyone releases), at least 4 of them are usless because of the noise (which you will be able to hear, even without expensive headphones). I know noone really cares about it but as the matter of fact this is quite important. Look for models with highest SNR possible (96dB is good enough). Also, usually that kind of information isn’t in the specification so look for tests on forums and sites.
Would never buy an ipod
ad says 15-20 hours, after my experience that is pretty close. i haven’t charged it for days now, but that is because it’s not frequently used.
Hey everyone, let’s keep bashing iPods in a thread where the OP has already stated he isn’t buying one.
sansa fuze, its frigging goddamn severely awesome. i cant apreciate that thing enough since i have it. its robust, it plays flac(flac FTFuckingW), it has a micro-SD-slot, its awesome, uhhhm the accus last long, it’s flat enough for not being annoying, it’s awesome
i used it for years and must say it’s awesome for reasons stated above. any further information will be gladly provided. rest assured that any question concering that player will be answered with(you guessed it): it’s awesome!
i’d recommend changing the firmware only when the warranty has expired.
