What the title says. Talk about whatever movies you like or don’t like, discuss upcoming films, and pretty much anything else having to do with cinema.
cough
That’s the last movie you saw, this is just about movies you like/don’t like, upcoming films, etc.
It was on the first post and everything…
Basically the same thread.
Well, no, not really. This thread is pretty much about all things movies, the other thread is about sharing with everyone the last film you saw, and what you’d rate it. This CAN include what the last movie you saw was and what you’d rate it, but it can be a movie you saw a while ago, it can be about what movie you’re excited to see, it can be about movie recommendations, it can be about anything as long as it’s related to movies.
If you hadn’t noticed this forum isn’t to afraid of going bit off topic. Especially if its just talking about movies instead of the last movie you watched. But sure technically speaking your thread is “its own thing”. Doesn’t mean people will post in it.
There may only be one movie thread.
(hint: it’s not this one)
I know that, but for the most part, when I looked at that thread, it’s stayed on topic for the most part (I judged this by looking at the first and last couple of pages, so if there’s anything off topic in that thread, I can’t really know this because the thread is 100+ pages long). So, if someone was to post in it “Hey, is anyone excited to see The Dark Knight Rises?” or “One of my favorite films is Jaws, you guys should check it out”, it would appear as off-topic.
Meh go easy on him and let the thread commence. He is right, this thread is more suited for it. So I’ll try to get things going.
Donnie Darko
Really good thought provoking dark comedy. It’s one of those movies where when you finish it you’ll just sit there for a while thinking about the whole thing.
The Truman Show
Not sure how to describe this one. It’s more serious than most Jim Carry movies, but he still plays the part very well. Don’t read the imdb story line section, massive spoiler.
Oldboy
Awesome South Korean film. It’s an intriguing mystery/action with quite the conclusion.
Two movie threads is too much and I am overwhelmed.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Decent flick and probably my favorite of the “…of the Apes” movies, but I had a major problem with Tom Felton as the film’s …antagonist? He just didn’t feel right in the movie but I could’ve been okay with him if they hadn’t have him deliver the Heston “damned dirty apes” line. Oh well. My opinion: Still the best “Apes” movie out there followed closely by the original “Planet of the Apes” movie with Heston.
Rio
The computer animated flick about a blue macaw that never learned how to fly, growing up in Minnesota suddenly thrust back into the land of his birth to…get jiggy with the last female of his kind. Genetics fail aside, I have to give this movie a big thumbs-up. It’s my favorite computer animated flick. Just wish there was more of Linda. For an animated character, she’s just so adorkable! Yes, I said “adorkable”.
Caesar should’ve been nominated for an Oscar at least.
Thanks you!
I watched that movie a while ago. It was pretty good, although I still like the original much better.
You say that as if it’s a remake
Well, original as in first. Original in the series
