Most Pain in the ass thing in a video game

Oh yeah those fucking flying skulls from Doom 3, fuck I hated their shittiness.

Oh, just fuck off! This thread is about gripes with game design, like key card hunting or overpowered enemies! Not your bitching about a game you don’t particulary like! Besides, Halo is fun!
I could go on and bitch about how I don’t like Call of Duty 4! But I won’t.
Anyway, the Archvile in DOOM II was annoying. Thank God for the BFG.
[COLOR=‘White’]It’s the Big Fucking Gun!!!

Any game when it doesn’t stop you if you kill a npc required for a future scripted sequence (I’m looking at you, CoD :WaW). I spent half an hour waiting for a door to open when I had accidentally previously killed the person who would have opened it.

It’s actually kind of surprising that no one has linked to any Angry Video Game Nerd videos. That dude, crucifies pain in the ass games.

On that note, I recall the episode with the original Ninja Turtles nintendo game, and that goddamn instant death electric seaweed.

how about The Library in Halo 1? Most boring/repetative level in a video game ever.

Yeah it’s like they ran out of money/time halfway through Halo CE’s development and decided it would be great if you could backtrack the first half of the game from that point, right after you finish this giant hallway level!

So you like Halo 3,
had no problem with OAR,
and have no complaints about TF2.

I’m not talking with you any more.

Gears of War II: The giant slug thing level, where you’re trying to get through it’s stomach and stomach acid is falling on you.

Tiki! Don’t be like that! You know he loves it when you bitch about a game you never played before but still judge it because it’s unrealistic and on consoles!
Actually, could you not talk to me either? Or anyone on the forums?
And if you have to open your mouth (or type in this case), at least bitch about games you’ve actually played, and without that law school bullshit you pulled in the “Games You Were Disappointed With” thread. I’m still crying over how retarded that argument over TF2 was!

That was probably the easiest level in the game. All you had to do was get to the edge of the acid pools and shoot the squirty things.

Perfect Dark + 8 bots + Farsight

spawn Time to kick some a- PYUU death music

Having to find my way which got me stuck for an entire hour in C&C Renagade.

The Library, from the original Halo. That’s the first level in any game that made me want to jam a shaft of rebar through my skull.

Snarks in a vent shaft. And one particular mission in Prototype which has me about ready to take a sledgehammer to my 360.

You know what is cooler? All remote mines with one slot grenades, all hard or above kaze sims. :^D

Basically the whole level explodes constantly, and you get the shit beat out of you.

Or all nbombs with kaze sims. All you hear is nbombs exploding and people getting punched, and you’re blurry as fuck the entire time.

I happen to like fun. It’s what comes from not being a pompous ass about what is essentially a kiddies past-time.

By the way, is there anything you like in the 21st Century, or do your nostalgia goggles cover all aspects of life? I said I didn’t mind OAR. I don’t get bored easily. That doesn’t mean I’m fawning over it, or that I don’t think it should be altered.

Ice level in super mario bros. I just kept slipping of

I found the Manhacks in HL2 to be really a pain. Before you get the Gravity Gun.

Tomb Raider 5 (Chronicles): Sometimes I just wanted to give up and throw it in a corner lol. The bugs didn’t help either. But I got through all of it! I had to replay the last part at least 20 times because of glitches, bugs and having wasted some precious ammo :frowning:

Well, maybe the Dahaka boss fight at the end of Prince of Persia: Warrior Within or the the Twins fight in “The Two Thrones”. But those were annoying in a good way :stuck_out_tongue:

Really? I love this level… Hordes of Floods coming at me while trying to stay alive. I must be a weirdo.

On A Rail?

The Library level was only properly fun in co-op, like most of Halo. Just as you reach the end of the level, you smack your friend in the back of the head, then run past his corpse to the finish.

Ah, yes, On A Rail. Thanks!

I didnt think oar was so annyoing, i finnished it on 7 minutes :expressionless:
