What was I taking literally? I understand they were similes and metaphors. I’m saying they were crap similes and metaphors.
I meant taking their meaning literally. Still its just preferences.

It was more that you forgot the tongue-in-cheek factor, and therefore you were taking everything too seriously. Some of the metaphors and similies were a bit crude simply to imbue the game with some much-needed, albeit subtle, humour.
Perhaps, but then that card can be used to excuse any form of crappy or clumsy writing. And when so many games are as badly plotted, conceived and as derivative as they are, I lean heavily towards the “crap writing” explanation over the “subtle tongue-in-cheek writing”.
Ah each man to his own point of view. For all this talk of supposed crap writing, Max Payne was nonetheless full of awesome quotes. See previous page.
