Tales of Monkey Island is not a “Monkey Island 5”.
According to an early presentation at E3, the episodes take place after the events of the yet-to-be-developed Monkey Island 5.

Aww… Sweet! I remember the good old days, when playing the third game in the series. I thought it was the only monkey island game until i was 10…

Oh, it’s not number 5? Oh well, all the better. Means there will be another game coming later.

Edit: I just beat chapter 1. It was a lot better than Monkey Island 4, I suggest anyone who is really into the Monkey Island series buy it.

I’ll probably get them at some point, but tbh I’m much more looking forward to the remastered version of the genius original. I hope they do 2 as well.

It’s not #5, it takes place after imaginary #5 MI, but sure, I as an old MI fan am excited as well, gonna buy 'em asap
