or a 1TB SSD :retard:
Update:
Went with 2x GTX 465s, corrected the CPU chipset and after the build is
complete. I may add an additional 6Gbs of RAM. Or should I spend the extra
now and go with the 3.2GHz i7?
SATA II - ugh… but yeah, where can i steal these?
EDIT - Above post - Victus which i7 model? 960?

this SSD has max. 260MB/s, so SATA3 wouldn’t make much of a difference
I know, im just being a bitch
Why not the 465s? They should be able to handle anything I throw at them or do you think they are bottle necking?
The 465s are end of life. The 460s have been announced today and they have more power than the 465 has.
Despite this, 5850’s + (upwards) are absolutely solid. id choose them over Nvidia’s anyday.
I just have this compulsive need to not mix Intel with ATI. I know it’s common but it almost feels like yin and yang. And I cross checked the 465s to the 460s they seemed a bit better, I’ll double check. In the mean time, what would the recommended card be from ATI without over stepping the price of 2x 465s?
I want a computer with lots and lots of jigga hurts. 1.21 of them.
Bsides Victus, why not look at it from a different perspective? the best of both worlds?
@Mango - Here is a comparison of the two. I see that the 5850 has more steaming processors than the 465 though the 465 runs a higher memory clock. I’ll check up on some video benchmarks.
One other thought, I don’t know if people caught it but I’m going to be rocking 3 ASUS 25.5" monitors. I read a review on guru3d about the 400 series being able to automatically support 3 monitors provided you have 2 cards? 2 DVIs in one card and the 3rd in the other? I want to ensure I’m checking this correctly.
I’ve noticed on benchmarks. The 5850 CF setup pumps an extra 10-30/40 frames in select games and drops 10-20 in others compared to the 465 SLI. For an extra 60$ I figure it’s worth it. I’ll change that to 2x 5850s.
the memory clock is wrong, it’s 4 x 1000MHz
You don’t need 2 5850s to run 3 monitors.
yeah, you need 3 :retard:
No, you only need one.
Or wait. Nah it won’t work if one of the displays doesn’t have a display port connection.
So you will need 2 I guess.
it was a joke, you idiot
Yeah, I’m getting two period. Money isn’t bad for them compared to the 480s. And I can live with the loss of 20-40 FPS when it’ll still hit 50+ no problem on some high end games with DX11.
You mean it’ll hit 60, right? Unless you’re a sick bastard and have vsync off.
I admit, I do this so Crysis actually hangs above 30 outside a tiny cave, and I can stare at all the pretty new effects it does on the new OS and hardware that it didn’t do before, despite the old hardware being just about as powerful.
