Mod release speculation thread

It’ll be on the news page, I’m sure, so I’ll notice. I think.

humm, that can be true, since I don’t use the BM main page to come to the forums…
BTW, really, does the release date is so important to start talking about more of it than anything else?
My opinion: The mod will be released only when the devs fell ready to do it. We all know that this mod is going to be one of the most greatest modifications of all times. It’s nonsense trying to figure out when something close to perfection will be at our hands, because we simply CAN’T do this.
I am going to wait the release, even if happens in 2010, 2011, 2012,…
And I will be really happy when I start playing it.

I honestly would like to think that blackmesasource.com would be the last site to see it, and really subtly: change the “Downloads” link in the header to “Download”.

Did everyone know Nov 3 is Gabe’s birthday.

I don’t know why, but I feel like you are trying to tell something, Eric.

I’m boycotting Gabe’s birthday, he had one just last year. Knowing Valve he’ll probably have ANOTHER one next year!

Aww… I didn’t buy him a gift… And It’s over… :’(

gabe is fat lol

Haha, you act like its not already there…

Hehe…

I wonder how that would be possible…

“Before december 31st 2009” means at the latest at 23:59:59.xxx on December 30th.
No place on Earth can have January 1st if ANY place on Earth still has December 30th.

Why don’t you guys take a break for a week or so and stop adding more nonsensical posts to threads like this one?

Guys, I have it from a reliable inside source that the workload of the team’s mappers is lightening up.[COLOR=‘Black’] No, really, he more or less disappeared from TWHL, and now he’s posting a map

Reliable Source? I’d call that mere speculation. I’m pretty sure the devs dont spend all their free time on the mod. That would drive me insane. O_o

Also note that they do spend their free time on Black Mesa Source. They don’t earn money working on that. So they have regular jobs.

So you say the time they don’t spend on Black Mesa is spent on yet more mapping and helping out in the mapping community? whoaw… then they really don’t have much life beyond this.

Not to mention that he said December 31st 2009 and January 1st 2009. As long as we’re nitpicking, we may as well make it easy on ourselves… your response has entirely too much logic for my liking.

Fucking turtles? What are they?

They work on the mod during their free time when they feel like it. This is a free game, people. Let’s not forget that. They can say “It will come out when it’s done” unlike 3D Realms who got screwed for doing that seeing that they get paid to make games. They are committed to the year 2009 and we will focus on the release date of 2009. After all, this is Black Mesa, not Duke Nukem Forever: The Game That Takes Forever To Make and Will Never Ever Come Out Game.

I just want you guys to know that if the mod doesn’t come out in 2009 that’s totally fine, it just also will be the tipping point as far as me ever being able to trust a human being ever again. Good luck, we’re all counting on you.

I see you haven’t heard of reproduction yet. Well, let’s just say it’s what happens before the stork brings the baby turtle. :stuck_out_tongue:

There’s something I have to tell you, son…

…you were adopted. :frowning:

OT: I would rather wait a year than get a mod this soon and them not have it as perfect as the feasibly could have. I’m really not bothered by a release on time or not.

Its The Final Countdown. wont be long now…

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
