I’ve never posted in this thread, I’d like to say though:
The ideas that the mod’s almost done or the mod is no-where near complete enough comes souly out of the secrecy of the mod’s content, even the videos posted on youtube are “alpha” tests (So we assume they’re older than 12 months), developers reply to the community’s questions with "So you think it’s older than 12 months? " and it just spirals into people having this baseless speculation that: “Mod’s almost done!” or “They’ve not even got up to Xen”, especially with the openness of the suggestions forum, people post suggestions as if maps are still in early development, a dev would comment on the suggestion as if they were open to it, when infact the area has already been completed to 100% and will no longer take suggestions.
I thought long and hard last night about this mod’s development secrecy confusing people, didn’t Valve keep Xen a complete secret until the game was released?
(Also, some mods should never take suggestions from the community, it’s of course up to the devs, but one things requested most here is “CoD4 style iron sights!!1!!” or “Halol 3 style see yer legs!”, I dislike this sort of input on mods and it seems that these suggestions are common in mods, and so they’re added. Neotokyo did well with being very in-team and they don’t use iron sights, iron sights would be fitting in that mod, but the lack-of them really keep up the feel in the strange way, seeing the side of your gun is cool in the environments)[/SIZE]

I doubt the release will have anything to do with the anniversary of HL1. If it is released on or near that date, I’m sure it will just be a coincidence.
Who knows, the devs may have a target month, and not a specific target date.
I’m pretty certain that they’ll release it as soon as it’s done, with no affiliation to a specific date. Unless they happen to get done on the 10th, in which case they might delay it a day :retard:
