I fuckin hate it how you are able to add 15 pages of posts to this thread in 1 week!
And would you rather the forum was totally inactive? The middle ground is rarely achievable.
Yes. Sorry, I kinda picked up the habit from one of my friends.
I indeed noticed that, but the team deserve some leisure time and taking that is totally understandable, so I didn’t want to comment on it.
There’s a fancy word for this, when developers play some other game instead of the one they’re working on.
Research - that’s the word, where they incorporate the bits they like best from L4D into BM.
Or they could be just blowing off some steam. If they have the time to play L4D, they must be assured that a 2009 release is possible. If they’re caught playing lots of L4D and they miss out on a 2009 release, someone’s going to put 2 and 2 together.
Or they’re playing L4D because a team of volunteers can’t be expected to spend every waking moment hard at work.
I spend most of my life volunteering (50+ hours) so I know what that’s like.
I keep wondering though why they prefer L4D over BM. Why don’t they play lots of their own game as iD Software did, or have they already. Are there issues that need to be taken higher up and incorporated later on as a game-balance patch?
The people want to know!
I dunno, just a wild guess, but perhaps the last thing they want to do when kicking back for a well deserved break between coding/mapping/modelling etc is play the same game they’ve just spent hours working on? I know I’d want to mix things up a bit and I’m sure that’s true for most people.
I was thinking more along the lines of “They’re waiting for you Gordon…”

That brings up the point, what will the “It’s Done” page be like? Like if the mod is so sweet that it becomes self-aware and destroys humanity, i think “Unforeseen Consequences” would be appropriate.
oh, I think we still have that closed thread of release date guessings, maybe you choose one of them, so that there has to be a prize for someone.
I WILL [/SIZE]stab somebody.
Guys, it’d be great if you could finish it 100% and release it tomorrow?
it’d be great.
Just postpone it until my 25th birthday.
Write down: 10th of June, 2015, 21:39
Shit dog, that’s my 25th birthday.
EDIT: Oh wait, it’s my 26th. Never mind then.
Hey, it’s Thanksgiving in a few days.
US RELEASE INCOMING
During which you will thank the volunteers for all of their efforts.
Unintended Valve puns for the win ^_^.
Unintended? I will have you know that I deliberately avoided saying “blowing off steam” because I love you guys.
It’s changed, now Source SDK is leading by miles. :’(
It was always like that Mangled, he was just saying that Source SDK was down from what it HAD been at (presumably a number higher than the 400s) and that Base 2007 was up from where it HAD been at (presumably a number lower than the 70s)
I would like you to watch their progress carefully and complile detailed statistics in numeric and visual form in a ‘Team Productivity via Steam Report’ or ‘TPS Report’ which you will then present to the class (the rest of us) in two weeks. Go. :freeman:
