Microsoft finally gets it?

Looks like Microsoft is finally shaping up and willing to follow the W3C schools this time around.

Now if only people were willing to upgrade from IE6 to something new, then my nightmares as a webdesigner are finally over.

PS With IE embracing HTML5 Video as well, Adobe could be in serious pain as far as Flash for webcontent goes.

After the First Browser War MS didn’t really have any competition in the browser market so they didn’t have to innovate, but now that there’s a good number of alternative browsers they have to if they want to keep their market share.

Good for us I suppose :expressionless:

At least we’ll finally be rid of those damn Flash plugins, especially on Linux.

I still prefer Firefox. It crashes a shit load less than IE, and the private browsing feature can’t be beat. Also, the addons for the favorites bar are unparalleled. I’m glad Microsoft is trying, but no thanks.

Yeah, Firefox addons are the dog’s bollocks :stuck_out_tongue:

Not going to use IE regardless.

Microsoft finally realizes we don’t want their games?

IE 6 is best no matter yo sayin’

How’s life in 2001 :expressionless:

Firefox wins.
Always.

Foxes are the #1 animal chosen for fursonas.

I myself have been using Opera long enough for at least 2 children to be conceived and born, and it has never crashed or wronged me in any way.

Yeah, I use the latest version of IE. Its not because I think its better than other browsers or don’t believe that other browsers are better than it, its just that IE has never really done me wrong, and I’ve used it for a really long time. It has conformed to my buttocks, and so its the perfect fit. Not to mention my University uses and online homework and quiz program for some classes, and that program doesn’t work to well on other browsers. I really don’t want to have an extra browser around if I am only going to use it for one thing.

Can’t wait for ie9 to come out and people realizing it’s slower than ever, and even less secure.

Opera rulez

Pfft, Mosaic FTW!

Lynx FTW!

Opera is decently fast, and low impact but lacks customization in it’s layout, which isn’t good for me, because I really hate it’s design.
I’ve tried out IE9 in it’s limited form, and it still doesn’t abide by web standards enough.
Fails Acid3 still…l I hope it does better.
I’m a firefox/chrome user. I have a lot of use for certain Firefox apps, and I have a real love for the ability to maneuver the layout of the interface.
chrome is fast and lightweight and simple. It doesn’t customize as well, but I like the design more than Opera.

Not really a huge deal since it’s not widely used yet, but IE still doesn’t support apng.

The little ball on that page is animated, for those running running browsers that don’t support it.

Webkit FTW. Safari on my Mac, Chrome on my PC. Haven’t needed IE (except for a few IE-only internal corporate websites) in ages.

Serious question: Is Chrome actually any good?

Chrome is fantastic. The only thing that was missing from firefox was extensions, and now that they have those, I see no reason to go back.

It also loads crazy fast, and the amount of space it uses in terms of the url bar and such is tiny.
