I really don’t know what to do. It’s not muted, I checked, and it worked fine before, but out of nowhere, it just stopped recording. I put everything to max sound and set everything to SB Live! 24-Bit. It’s like it just decided to not work anymore. Both my desktop microphone won’t work and my webcam microphone. It’s in the right jack and everything, and this is really pissing me off. Help, please?

I’ve had a $20 Logitech headset for 2+ years, haven’t had a problem with it yet. Comfortable, good sound quality, no one ever has trouble hearing me on Vent, etc. It isn’t a surround headset, of course, but for the sake of having a microphone I can’t complain.
What model is it? I hate my MS LifeChat X2000. It came with a stupid hiss in the mic, very bad mic sensitivity, the earphones were designed to CLAMP onto your ears, and even on the smallest setting the supports are enormous, like they expected us all to either be gigantic fatasses or have crazy big southern lady hairstyles.
there is another option the most people forget about, If you have an xbox360 and a headset you have a windows headset.
Just connect the controller and plugin the headset, windows should detect a newly attached device and presto!

yeah if you have a ps3 bluetooth earpiece and bluetooth on your PC you don’t have to buy the shitty proprietary usb to xbox wireless remote adapter
This is the closest I could find to the one I have (but I can’t speak for this one’s quality, of course) - Logitech ClearChat. The Xbox 360 controller isn’t a bad idea (unless you only have wireless controllers - then it would suck. But I don’t have anything Bluetooth so that leaves PS3 out for me too

Eh, sadly that set looks like it’s just as bad in a lot of ways as the MS LifeChat LX-2000 that I have.
