2033 was a fantastic game in every way, except the stealth and shooting. Which were kinda big screw ups. If they can fix those, the sequel should be great.

I misread the tittle and thought this would be someone’s story of a horrible subway journey after a night on the booze, but it was an L opposed to an N.

kinda VERY big, it pretty much ruined the majority of the game for me. Hopefully they can sort this out for the next one so i don’t spend the final few hours of the game begging for it to finish

I loved 2033 so I’m very excited for this new game.

Never played it. From what I’ve gathered it’s a decently done S.T.A.L.K.E.R clone

It’s nothing like Stalker actually. Besides that it takes place in Russia and involves a nuclear holocaust.

It’s more like Bioshock.

And Cryostasis.

The only thing that kept me at a distance with Metro was the combat and the sound design.

What exactly about Metro: 2033 was like Bioshock, aside from the ruined environments?

I’ll check it out at your local library

Mostly the inventory system.

That looks x100 better.

It’s also more graphically intensive than Crysis.

I wouldn’t really go that far with the graphics. I can run Metro: 2033 at max graphics without any loss of performance, whereas if I run Crysis at max graphics I’m lucky if I get 10 fps.

Metro 2033 was a very nice game. Gibbelin is very right about the stealth system. The singleplayer story was absolutely fenomenal. It’s graphics were very good and the gameplay was very decent. If they can polish the very little minorities like the stealth system in the sequel it should be a very nice game.

greetz

the Kremlin star did nothing

minigun why

this game is going to be shit

I would have loved to finish Metro 2033, but I got stuck and a part that was excruciatingly challenging and had me repeatedly trying in frustration for two hours. I’m not entirely encouraged to try the sequel when it comes out if there will be such a spike in difficulty.

I call BS on that.

I can run Crysis on highest (AAx2) @ 1920x1080 with FPS rarely dropping below 30, but on Metro 2033 I couldn’t even run it on high settings without it being at 10 FPS and below. At least not at 1920x1080.

So everything was good except the gameplay. Would make a great movie then.

Personally I could never get into it an finish, controls were too annoying. Nothing like STALKER or Bioshock though, no idea where that is coming from.

I thought the implication of my post was obvious. Yes, the poor gameplay was a huge disservice to the excellent art direction, writing, and atmosphere. I actually never bothered to beat the game because the combat was so bad.

Controls aren’t a determining factor for me in whether I can like a game or not.

Unless it’s like, QWOP or something.
