Metro Last Light

the epic sequel of the story of russian metro tunnels filled with neo-fascists and communists and mutants that dwell on the surface due to nukes

Metro now returns with better graffix, better gameplay, and most importantly, immersion; and tits

it truly is a great game and i will not spoil anything besides backstory stuff

according to THQ, 4A had a real low budget when making this game, and were in horrible working conditions (a budget “that AAA devs would’ve consumed making a cutscene”)

inb4 pics of the nudity scenes

does it finally support EyeFinity/Surround without that horrible mouse speed(horizontal vs vertical) bug?

im pretty sure it does

Can’t play it, game keeps crashing.

Amazing looking game though, and it runs really well as well.

@sersoft: I saw some people saying that the horizontal and vertical aiming speeds were still different, but I haven’t noticed anything. You can also change your fov after a recent patch.

They are still different. The game is an improvement over 2033, but it’s still a little rough around the edges. Floaty combat, bad human AI, etc. Still a pretty good game though, the world building and atmosphere are top of the tops.

Wait, that patch is out? Awesome! I can buy it now!

No fov slider tho, gotta change the config file.

that’s jussfine

well we gotta take into account that 4A were in horrible working conditions when making this game (and had the budget of that of a cutscene), driven only by passion (sound familiar?) for the metro universe

Now just imagine if they had the work conditions and budgetary freedom of Valve…

hopfully this game sets a example to other devs stating that you dont need mega budgets to make a good game…

I don’t know, but I’m getting pissed that it won’t work on my computer. I’ve tried two pirated versions too, on top of my Steam version, and same issue, though it took longer to crash with the latest pirated version I tried.

maybe you should tell us your hardware

Heh, sorry, venting. I’ve posted about it on the Steam forums for the game and I guess they’re looking into it for another patch but it’s taking longer than I was hoping.

i5 760 @ 3.5GHz
GTX 670
8GB RAM

I’ve tried pretty much everything, using different driver versions, verifying game cache, reinstalling game, etc but no dice. It crashes in the exact same way every time too and the event log looks identical each time as well. Positive it’s an issue on their side.

the only problem i have with this game is that they spend so much time making the game world immersive and they have the ranger difficulty to make you feel like you’re really scrounging for survival, but then all the voice acting is done in english with horrible cartoony russian/german accents and the voice acting itself is so over the top.

Go into the options menu and set the voice language to Russian. Same as the first game.

they said that english subtitles will not be the same as the actual voice dialogue (and that there are secrets to be heard within the english voices)

im more interested in hearing secret dialogue in Russian

edit: nope mouse is still waaay faster horizontally than vertically

also what’s the deal with not letting me turn off antialiasing? It should at least disappear after I disable it in Catalyst.

My framebuffer is already too big for my GPU I don’t want to give up playability only to make the picture slightly blurrier.

IIRC, at least in the first game the English voice actors were the same as the Russian ones.

So, those Russian accents were real.

I just got the game, and have to say it looks much better than what I came to expecting from it.

Also, it seems to be much heavier proportion wise on the CPU than the “Metro 2033”.
