Pre-ordered during the sale. Thanks for the tip!
This game came out today and I’m playing it right now. The port is fairly decent but still a bit limited in terms of settings. You can choose from several resolutions up to a max of 1920x1080 locked to 60fps. We’re talking true framebuffer resolutions unlike the Dark Souls port. Anyway, the people who play on screens above 1080p and 120hz are pissed because of that and while durante seemed to have figured out how to unlock the resolution, it messes up with the hud and he doesn’t seem sure that he can fix that. However, Platinum seems to be listening to the issues and we might see a patch later down the road.
Other than that, it runs great and looks a bit better than the console versions.
Hope it sells enough to convince Konami to port MGS5 to PC.
i thought they were already considering mgs5 on pc…
but with the kind of graphical fidelity they’re showcasing with mgs5, i think its safe to say it should come to pc so that we can experience those graphics at maximum quallity
I like the port except so far except for one little issue. Whenever I set the game to fullscreen 1080p it puts black borders around the entire display.
There was one guy on the steam forums who was hit with the same issue, but it doesn’t seem like there’s much to do about it at this point except set it windowed mode. At least with that there isn’t as big of a border.
Do you have an AMD card? I was having the same issue and did this workaround: https://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=96520385&postcount=1693
Works like a charm.
Yep, that did it. Thanks Maxey
I think we’re getting a little ridiculous here.
Why do so many console games abuse prerendered cutscenes so much? I really don’t understand.
Background loading. Instead of having loading screens, they show people pretty movies. Ever since Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time did it, everyone’s been trying to get the most seamless experience possible.
For those of you that have this game, or for those that are thinking about getting the game, this forum thread may be of use to you.
I tried the sgssaa bit listed there and it did seem to work in getting rid of aliasing but it made everything pretty blurry and the framerate would drop quite a bit with lots of particle effects, like when Raiden rips one of those things out of someone and smashes it.
