ModDB page, they’re using the Alien Swarm engine
What’s your thought’s on this?
Not much to go on right now, but I’m a huge MGS fan. I’ll be looking forward to some developments in the future x)
!!!
I never played the original Metal Gear but I love the Metal Gear Solid franchise! This sounds so cool.
I’m about as excited for this as the avatar of the person above me. Go Konami! Thank you for not being EA or Square Enix.
And best of luck to the team as well!
It’s going to need a lot of changing to be a playable game looking at it from now. I played it a little bit ago and a lot of things in the game are so counter-intuitive that you pretty much need a guide to be able to beat it.
The ModDb page has been archived and the gamespot article says
Well, that’s sad, I thought I’d get to play MGS1 and be amazed by the graphics again just like in PS1 days.
^This was remaking the original Metal Gear for the MSX, not MGS1 for the PS1.
Also wonder what happened.
Probably the same story as always. They publicly get the go ahead from the studio, but still get sent a C&D
Why remake Metal Gear when you have MG2, leave alone MGS.
Those three are virtually THE SAME GAME.
MG2 is actually half-worth remaking, MG1 - hell fucking no.
I still need to play MG2. Don’t feel like getting on my PS3 to play the version that comes with the HD collection.
download the msx version for free.
Besides, it’s got those badass vintage codec icons for the cast:
The HD version has a new translation that doesn’t suck ass though. At least the first game’s translation wasn’t very good, not sure about 2. I would have thought by now someone would have ripped the translation from the HD version.
MG2 was never localized officially before the Subsistance re-release. Anything before that was probably fan-made.
Mobile/n-gage versions…
Edit: nvmd, those were still japan exclusive.
There is no such thing as an HD-version of MG2. It is the same version that made it to the original subsistance disk, as in nothing’s changed since msx.
Oh, and that new translation still somewhat sucks ass.
Yeah, meant the version that comes in the HD version, which is the same that came with Subsistence.
