Message To Valve

Not sure how you folks feel about petitions on the steam forums, but I signed it.

I already signed before you do, lady.

I’ll sign it.

I’m not going to freak out at Valve because they won’t tell us anything, but a friendly petition asking for just a little more communication sounds like a great plan.

Suddenly, 400+ people find themselves unable to log into their steam accounts!

For gods sake people, just be patient. They are, guaranteed, working on it and will release info when they feel that it will create enough buzz and therefore increase sales. Just wait. It will happen. Petitions will not speed it up.

We are not speeding it up, we just need to hear something about it.

We, as the most loyal community for valve, deserve news about one of the last titles in their flagship series. I’m rather tempted to sign this petition

So that’s why my connection to steam just dropped. :fffuuu:

Why sign it? I trust Valve, and if they don’t feel like working on Episode 3 yet, why do it? So they can make a sub-par Half-Life game? I’m fine with waiting.

I’m talking about speeding up the speed on info releases.

I have never signed a steam forum petition, but if I were to hang my hat on one, this was gonna be the one. So I did. It is a friendly yet clear communication that the fans would like something.

I fully expect nothing to come of it. And I will not be broken up about that.

I was gonna say almost the exact same thing.

Same, Valve is notorious for giving no information about their projects. That is until there almost complete

Valve’s entire marketing strategy relies on them giving only small hints of information at a time, and that is how the entire Half-Life series has always been. They know it’s worked well in the past, and will continue to work for them.

Yes, I would love to know what they are doing with Episode 3, I’d love to see some screens, a trailer, a predicted release date, but that just isn’t how Valve works. I’m not saying this will never work to be a pessimist, I’m saying this will never work because Valve knows how to play a market, and us getting all riled up about a game is exactly what they want.

I think they know that people want to know about it. Just a feeling.

The OP is full of irony goodness.

I noticed it, but said nothing.

So very very true :bms:

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
