Message To Valve

Oh yeah, because internet petitions always work.

Hey, why not rush them? They said they’re releasing it in episodes so players can have a new one every year. Bullshit, none of the episodes were released as they suggested. Dead space, Portal 2, L4D2 - good titles but what the fuck about Freeman? No (literally NO) information about the game was released since the two concept arts.

It’s not like BMS, it’s not free, it’s ok to bitch about it…

:hmph:

They have petetions for everything. None of them ever did anything. Will sign regardless.

Something, something ;P.

I know I know… How ironic to have an unreleased Black Mesa “developer” (term used loosely!) actually sign a petition stating more information about episode 3 is requested.

Here is your difference folks.

Us

Them

Did you get that? Ok one more time… USTHEM.

So yeah. Bite me. :chuckle: :stuck_out_tongue:

Well at least we have a release date for Black Mesa Source. MASSIVE TROLLFACE

So yeah… I’ll bite. The irony isn’t in the amount of media released (despite you “developers” having been at it for around twice as long). It’s in the numerous slap downs handed out here… “be patient, it’ll be done when it’s done” etc etc.

Follow your own advice and be patient, I’m sure Valve will release stuff as when they deem it necessary along with all the other stuff they’re doing. :’( :stuck_out_tongue:

signed.

Not really. The irony is in that the devs here have been, at times, stingy with the info, however it mostly ends there, before any further context or details are explained.

The Black Mesa team have told us time and time again that they’re working on it, it’s in-progress, and have given us little bits here and there. We’ve asked, and they’ve responded many times. While they still hold a lot of details back, they not only have a reason, but have dignified our questions with a response explaining their reasons for not spilling the beans.

Valve has not done this. The fans have asked, and Valve hasn’t given even the slightest hint something is happening besides those concept sketches. They have aggressively ignored their longest-running and most loyal fans, the ones who really helped make Valve what it is today. It’s kinda rude.

To make an analogy, imagine waiting for your meal at a nice restaurant.
With Valve, the Half-Life fans have been sitting and waiting at their table much longer than they expected or were told. When they ask their waiter about their meals, the waiter just keeps walking (after making brief eye contact, showing they DID hear), not saying a word. Meanwhile, other people have come in, ordered, gotten their meal, and even some got an extra dish they didn’t really ask for (L4D2), paid their bill and left, while the waiters talked with them, answered questions, and even provided entertainment. That’s bad customer service in a restaurant, and it’s bad service in the entertainment industry.

With the Black Mesa team, we’ve been waiting a very long time, and while we expected it to be a while, it’s far longer. When we asked the waiters, they’d respond, and assure us that our meal is being made. Sometimes, one of the chefs will poke his head out of the kitchen and say “Hold-ah you horses! The food is-ah cookin’, and it’s gonna be the best food you ever-ah tasted!”, and while we’ve waited we’ve gotten free appetizers, but they try not to give us too much to spoil the meal or start getting accusations that the appetizers would indicate them having the food ready and just holding out, or not working on the main meal enough.
Also, the meal is totally free and these are normally hours where the business is closed, but the staff is still there serving us for free anyway.

VVVVVVV I DID say we got free appetizers!

… and then the cook sends out some bread and dipping oil while you wait.

They are not ignoring us, because we know they are making it. Thats all we need to know. I don’t care about media, I don’t care about the trailer, I don’t care about some teaser. I care about playing the game, which I know will be quality. As such, I’m content to wait.

Basically, we are fans of Valve because they make games, not media releases.

As a side note, did anyone here actually trust Valve to be on time with their deadlines?

You do? :brow:

:retard:

The longer Ep3 takes, the better it will be in the end

Or the ruder it is from Valve. All they’ve been giving us is pics of what it might look like, and everything else about it is just fake.

but i like when valve teases me like a 17 year old girl

i hope valve make a game about managing race horses

That’s actually a good idea.

Next time I look up the word ‘random’ in a dictionary I want your name mentioned there.

Mail them about it.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
