how do people even find threads this old?
Welp, now the shit has been done.
So, while it may not look like a 100% truthful Max Payne sequel, it does look like a mighty fine third person shooter with the sexiest animation I’ve seen in a videogame yet and so that makes it awesome in my book.
Definitely a game to look forward to.
I saw those trailers already, and I’m fucking hella excited for this game.
Normally I dislike TPS games, but I’ve always made exceptions for Max Payne and the (early) Tomb Raider series games, and despite not being in NY this is looking sexy. On top of that it has Max’s voice too, and Rockstar ran it by remedy, and they approve so that makes it that much better.
Damnit, this game looks and sounds too good to be true
Yeah…but…previous two games were good in both the gameplay and story …gameplay here looks quite good…I hope the storyline will be good too
Having seen and heard more about the game, I’ve done a complete 180. It looks fucking AWESOME.
Apparently there’s some insane new procedural animation system (about time someone finally caught up to Looking Glass circa 1995) that’s just mind boggling.
This sounds nice. I’ve never been interested in Max Payne (I have 1 and 2 on Steam, but haven’t played them much) but this game sounds like it’s going to be awesome.
Edit:
Fuck yes, they’re using Euphoria.
From where did you get that last quote? It seems that whoever wrote that preview thinks Euphoria is the name of the graphics engine, when in fact it’s the name of the procedural animation engine.
Max Payne 3 uses an improved version the same engine as GTA4 and RDR, which is called R.A.G.E., and they’re still using Euphoria for the animation.
Care to elaborate on what game they made that had something like that?
It’s from the CVG article, though it seemed obvious to me that they were talking about the animation when I was reading.
Edit: Maybe that’s because I know what Euphoria is…
I was exaggerating, obviously, but the character models in Terra Nova: SFC were all procedurally animated, as were the dinosaurs in Trespasser (which was made by Looking Glass’ physicist).
The fact that developers just gave up on that idea for a decade was a bummer, so I’m glad to see it’s starting to make a comeback.
Ah ok. Had no idea about TN and I completely forgot about Trespasser.
Can’t wait.
Fucking hell, Rockstar :aah: !
Also,
Please, please, please be true.
Edit: And it says optimal RAM as 16GBs, which means it has to be a 64 bit game right?
Oh wow, they must never repeat a single asset throughout the whole game or something. That’s fucking crazy.
Also good to know my PC is just single generation ahead of the minimum requirements.
Most likely.
Those maximum specs only mean the game is optimized for those, not that it’s the only way to run the game maxed out.
They simply listed the complete range of spec configurations the game will run well on, they are not specific.
Haha you just posted that on Reddit too did you ?
It really does look like the game is a completely different experience on PC from this information. I hope a lot of that 35GBs is for objects lying around that can be interacted with during shootouts.
Yes I did, gotta educate the ignorant peasants.
