Hello,
I’ve recently learnt how to create cinematic physics in 3ds Max using MassFX.
My problem is, how do I export it to Source?
It would be great if anyone could help me with this.

I don’t have any links for you, (Sorry) but I would look for an SMD exporter for 3DS Max and save the simulation as an animation SMD. Also, be sure that you don’t have too many pieces of debris, as I think the bone limit for models is 256, meaning you could only have 256 separate parts max.
EDIT: I do have links now.
I have already tried exporting it as a sequence, that did not work unfortunately.
Make a copy of the model and strip out all the animation, try using that as a reference if you haven’t already. I can’t think of anything else that could help, sorry.
Just tried it, didn’t work.
Your try for helping is appreciated.
mudbox/maya or bust
bring me your finest NURBS and Cheeses
no physics simulation in mudbox, bro.
I’d say go for the XSI mod tool. I think it has simulation that plugs right in to Source’s cinematic physics.
I’ll try that.
Edit: Tried, it’s pretty hard for me since I’m more experienced with 3ds Max.
Second Edit: Errors all the time for me.
well, you just need to give every fragment a bone and copy the animation to the bone, so it’s abone animation again, then it works
That would take quite some time.
Have any scripts or plugins that can do it fast for me?
there should be, but I don’t know where to find it, hadn’t done a thing with 3DS for ages.
Been searching for hours… It would be really great if someone could find a plugin like that.
Tried PM’ing Raminator?
