Daaaaaaaamn.

Maxey, this is actually old news. Valve already said in TF2 ingame, if community players creates hats, the creators will receive a profit along with Valve.
No shit sherlock.
What he was showing how much they have made off the said items.
The concerning thing here is that over 50,000 dollars have been spent by people in order to get unimportant in game items. People really are idiots.
FREE HAT HE IS INNOCENT
If I even played TF2, I’d want a headcrab hat.
EDIT: hmm, guess it’s been done already…
Considering that we live in a world with 24 million dollar cars,8 million dollar iPhones, and 140 million dollar paintings of nothing, this doesn’t really seem all that surprising.
It’s actually a lot worse because that’s some shit people use irl, while the hats are completely useless other than showing off to some anonymous guys and girls. Those things you mentioned are more usefull for that purpose because you can show it off to people who aren’t anonymous.
OT: Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn
140 mil for a worthless painting is worse that 5 bucks for a worthless hat. I think that’s kinda obvious.
fuck bitches, make hats
@Someonerandm
I actually liked that painting. I wouldn’t pay 140 million on it, obviously, but a lot better than a hat in a game.
people are way too overfuzzed about tf2, just sayin’
This.
The item creators only get payed 25% of the price so… it’s around something like $900,000 that has been spent on those items alone in the first two weeks.
Valve are richer than they were it seems.
Never underestimate the power of true fanboyism.
I personally do not like the painting about 28 million times as much as the hats, so yeah, its just a touch over priced.
When I first saw a hat listed for $17 I had to do a quadruple take. There are a lot of suckers playing TF2, apparently. Good on the dudes who made all that money, but shame on the idiots who gave it to them.
I think everyone should spend the money in whatever they want to, I don’t care. Specially if I’m the one selling :3
The lady that made the Saharan Spy stuff had more than enough to pay off her student loans.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
