Machinima-The Bivium

Here is a basic, simple example of a lip sync I have done to show my ability…yes…fraps 3.0.3 kinda sucks sorry…it might have misplaced movement of the lips or audio…
Like I’ve said before…I have messed with faceposer for several months now…I’m pretty good with it

what’s the command to embed a video into this forum?

I’m not sure if it’s possible in this forum but you can just copy the ‘embed’ link on the right side of the Youtube video page.

Lip-syncing’s looking good so far, keep it up! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi there, lurker/voice actor here and I just wanna make a few suggestions.
Forgive me in advance if I sound harsh, I really don’t want to, I only want to help.

Anyways, when you post an Audition/Casting, it’s best to include a script or at least a sample of one, not just random snippets of dialogue. A more complete description of the characters and the voices you seek, yes, WE are the voice actors but YOU are the director; meaning you have a specific voice you want for the characters and we need to know EXACTLY what kind of voice you seek. I see you did include some descriptions, so your off to a good start

One last thing, try to be more specific for example:

“that’s sweet…what rebel model do you wanna be? It cant be any of the ones listed…or can you do dr breen? Or can you do like…the voice of a general or something or combine…”

Try to point out specific characters, not “or something” :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh and good job with the lipsync, I don’t know if that was just a dry-run with out full animations but try to add more emotion to the character  best of luck!

Yeah…as I said…it was just kinda’ to prove that I could do faceposing…I’m trying to perfect that same choreography scene now…I’m going to upload another video of progress…and by the way…available positions

[COLOR=‘Red’]-all female rebels
-combine
-metropolice (possibly)
-combine overwatch automated woman voice
-vortigaunts (most likely telling the stories of the 7 hour war to others, that’s a good idea!)
-maybe even headcrabs…(we might keep default…but it’d be cool if someone acted out new ones)
-mappers
-3d modeler
-animators (more animations for faceposer use and choreography)
-texture artists
-sound effects and music creation (must be similar to valve’s but it doesn’t really matter that much!)
-more faceposer and choreography people! (^_^) (If you can do your own character’s animations and gestures and choreography that’s a plus!)

apply now while positions are open…thank you all for your support!:3

Here’s that video I promised!

You should add that positions list to the first post.

Hey, what’s your steam account ID, pm it

I want in to combine or civil protection!

Well IM me…with an audio sample and stuff.

Here’s a quick combine-soldier test I just made; turned out better than I expected.

Attention:

Modelers needed…
also, check the front page for other positions…I just got adobe flash and after effects onto my computer so that’s cool.

What’s a good video recorder…other than fraps?
By the way…that lip sync I did was not a “run through”. I use windows 7 so I do it manually. Either way, it beats speech api sdk 5.1. Sorry I meant…not a “dry-run”. I wasn’t trying to sound mean really… :\

Hey, what program you used to edit the voice?

Just Audacity.

If you have a high-end PC, use fraps, if not, use Source Recorder. It’s complicated to use at first, but you get used to it.

I used to use source recorder a couple times but it’s not really good enough…very buggy and fire effects don’t usually show up correctly…I honestly think a 9800gtx+ should be good enough for fraps…if not…that’s rediculous. I think fraps version 3.0.3 just fails. Wanna get my mom to actually buy fraps tho. 3.1.1 is probably better. I really like how it can record any directx program.

Damn, teach me how to make myself sound like a combine.

I use Fraps 2.5.0 ( ) with a Radeon 4850 and it runs fine with all games on max. :stuck_out_tongue:

You all know the source filmmaker was leaked right?

Yeah but some errors are still there. I know one guy made a video that looked awesome through the preview, but then when it compiled and saved, it looked… bad. Particles were displaced, the colours had splits between them…

Well, when the official one is released, I’m happy to fiddle around with it.

I checked out that film recorder…I’m kind of disappointed in the lack of excitement of this thread…you have to realize that I need the crew not in months years…I need some people who can do some stuff now…Like I was saying…this idea has been floating around and in my mind since october, 2009. Last post from someone was you adam from march 1st…it is now march 6th…if I can only get people to post here every 5 days that’s pretty useless to me and the whole point of the movie…I’ve been patient…waiting for some people who have talent…do I really need to explain this into more detail? maybe I should quadruple bold everything on the front page then?

Well, you wanted voice actors, right? As far as I know, there’s only one voice actor who frequently checks these forums. The talents you’ll meet on here are usually in the visual field, such as painting, or 3d modeling.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
