Loss of Interest in BM?

Still who gave him permission to tell us this? I would await such an announcment in a separate thread and cman2k announcing it as he is the Project Leader. Imo I think it is too good to be true(This is just my opinion) …

I’ll wait with everyone till the end of the year then we will know if it is true or not and wether every noob will post crap on the forum because it wasn’t released when it was supposed to.

Someone make a coin flipping machine. That way, based on the statistics generated by it, we can surmise whether the game will be released in 2010.

Calm down guys, I can tell things are starting wrap up. They will tell us the internal release date soon, I know it.

My estimated release date:
When one of us computer nerds get laid.

I agree. I’ve been watching this since 2004. I was 11 years old at the time. Im almost 19 now. Dev’s it would be greatly appreciated if you could relieve some stress about the release. Talk to your fans!

180,590 views. Major loss of interest here

You aged almost eight years in six years’ time? Nice.

He used Math magic …

Actually, he instantly got gray hair, when the release was postponed last December…
wait a minute, I’m old too now!

Maybe he was born in a third world country and did not know his true birthday, until he discovered his birth certificate in a box handed on by his real mother containing a letter, a video tape and his REAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE! And then he cried because she loved him so much, but he was to proud to …

BM Will be released at the end of the year? Man, this feels like deja vu :fffuuu:

As for loss of interest…I’ve lurked and followed Black Mesa since 2004-2005 and occasionally check back to see whats going on. I must say that this recent stretch since the game missed its release date has probably been one of the longer droughts of actual info :frowning: . Oh well, I just hope that means they’re hard at work getting this mod finished finally. I’m still really looking forward to it.

I do just the same, and agree with this entire paragraph. Very well put. The “longer droughts of actual info” is certainly imo the biggest disappointment with the dev team.

might wan to give that face in your sig a philtrum groove.

pretty sure he has one

He does!

“The biggest disappointment with the dev team”

I do not think anyone has the right to be disappointed with the dev team.

Nobody knows whats happening behind the curtain, why the release got postponed. Do us all a favour and be disappointed when you have the right to be disappointed: after the games has been canceled or released. And not even then, because at any rate they have invested A BIT MORE into the development than you have. So if anyone will be disappointed because they will not release it or it will suck: it will be the devs, trust me.

Every time I hear a sentence like this I think the community deserves to wait for another year, until they’ve learned to be grateful.

This part of the human psyche is SO frustrating: you give something great to someone for free, or promise to give it to him at some point, but when he does not get it, he is totally mad and frustrated, although he did not loose anything in the end.

I bet i’ll get flamed for this, but maybe its a possibility that Valve released their new engine to the Black Mesa Team back in December '09, and they’re re-doing all the engine stuff, and going to have a huge surprise for us (Fingers crossed :stuck_out_tongue: )

No. Raminator said that engine change would definitely is out of the question. Can someone find a quote for me?

Heh well you know that some percentile of people are total assholes they will never learn … and as I posted some posts before, that the “[COLOR=‘Red’]Lead animator” said something doesn’t mean that the mod will be at end of 2010 … but trying to beat sense into their thick skulls is a waste of time …

Au contraire, it has been stated that engine updates are a possibility if it fits into their internal schedule; i.e. if engine updates are released before the internal deadline for release, and if the work required doesn’t set them back.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
