That´s a deadly question these days
Maybe it’s the calm before the storm?
I hope so,
i really want to play BMS
but the longer it takes, the better the game will be and at least the game won’t be full of bugs and glitches. I hope the game will be ready soon!
I’m especially curious about Xen, i’m sure it will look awesome
I think it was said by one of the devs in this thread, but they DO have a comprehensive list of all the things in the game to do, are in progress, or have been done. I think that maybe it would satiate a little curiosity to summarize (and of course, vaguely-word) some of the bigger parts of said list.
I mean things like whether or not they still have maps that are at the orange-texture stage, or if there’s objects/enemies/NPCs that still only exist in concept art, or if they’re pretty confident all the voice acting is finished save for a few lines they may have forgotten or want to add in later on. Things like that. Not very specific, but somewhat indicative of how much there may or may not be left, barring “unforseen consequences” which they were not prepared for.
Again, it’s just an idea/suggestion, and it was already pointed out that any release of information tends to be savagely scraped up by the fans and run wild with. I’ll still sit here (im)patiently while they continue the mod however they like.
They’ve already said a few such things.
Just because something takes longer doesn’t automatically mean it’s going to be better and free of problems…ever heard of procrastination? Looks like I just killed your optimism.
You’d think you did so, but then you realize you’re pretty much insignificant and don’t really affect anyone at all.
Gotta Love being a cockroach, huh?
[/sarcasm]
a floode d office with HL2 WATer feffcects simplyu looks so real…like a real apocalyps or fire alarm. i can not wait to play this game! actually i can wait. i am waiting.
Certainly so.
Mattemuse, have you been hitting the bong? Your posts tonight are nonsensical.
Nope, you can get one in the baking cafe near VALVE office.
Lies. There is no bakery near the valve headquarters. I should know, I live in seattle :3
That said, I only periodically check in anymore. I used to be religious a few years ago, but it’s just not coming together as timely as I thought. Not that I really complain, I know how much work this is. More dev involvement would be nice, with regards to media updates -on the main website- but it’s not mandatory. what, 111 days without a twitter update?
I mostly want it to come out so I can get my girlfriend hooked on the half life universe. The original is just a bit too dated these days.
In fact you did XD
Assuming that this delay makes sure that the game will be actually finished upon release makes me think this long waiting has actually any use. (of course it has use)
And yes you’re right it, the longer it takes to make the game doesn’t make it better, but it reduces the chance of an unfinished game. I remember a lot of EA games that game exactly on their release date given almost 1.5 years before, which is remarkable. Nevertheless the games sucked upon release, it wasn’t until dozens of patches that the game actually worked properly.
With these delays i hope the same thing won’t happen with BMS.
Yeah but those of us with virtually anything going on in our lives don’t tend to check up on and post about things that we have little to no interest in.
So hugs, I guess, I’m sure things will pick up for you soon.
There was an online magazine article (gameinformer?) about Portal where they spoke to the baker who’s cake the Valve staff used as the model for the cake in Portal. Depends on the definition of ‘near’ I guess.
Must have been somewhere not nearby, I’ve been by their offices a few times
There are about ten different bakeries within a mile or so of Valve HQ.
One of them already came on earlier in this thread and said, basically, “we’re not going to release any of that info because every time we do someone uses it against us.”
So, the bottom line is they’ve reached the point where they see us all as the enemy, and they’re keeping their heads down.
hmm how much of BM is done in %? what would you say?
