Loss of Interest in BM?

I just hope they release BM while I’m going BM. You should probably just put “5: 30pm US eastern” into your calendar right now, Raminator, before you guys forget.

Please don’t let me down.

People lost interest in Duke Nukem Forever, no?

Wow I’ve only been here a few months, and even I’m tired of the Duke Nukem Forever posts. :hmph:

I think there are a number of things going on on this thread that support both sides. I personally am driven crazy with the type of release dates that Blizzard puts out. SC2 and D3 have been in a “it too early to tell at this point…” status for years.

I completely understand the difficulty of pinning down a date on a project of this size. I have more insight after reading this thread about the twitter update (now 103 days old). I was primarily visiting the main site for status updates, and rarely seeing anything new.

What about breaking the project into categories for completeness? Maps, models, voices, textures, so on? It’s more work, but it wouldnt require a date and would still provide an overview of how far you are.

You’ve seen it before, but thank you for your time and efforts in this mod. I’ve been following the mod loosely for as long as I can remember and am eagerly awaiting the release.

Just saw this in new media. Any idea’s of what it could be?

It’s not yet in the actual timeline.

Isnt the cake a lie?

It was at the end of the time line, but removed due to confusion.
It may be used to mark the release, but just because it has been uploaded it doesn’t mean it’s getting released tomorrow. The wiki is primarily community-driven.

Have they really now?

I’ll probably lose interest when I’ve developed arthritis in my old age when its released because I’ll be incapable of playing it.

I’ve stooped to the point of just checking back to see if anything new shows up and not posting, but that’s simply because I ran out of motivation to post as much as I did on forums 1 1/2 years ago.

No, well, anyways I found out about this mod about one year ago, so…haha, I haven’t been waiting so much =P =P

yeah, perhaps I will be disappointed when I finally get to play the game because I have been waiting for so long. The waiting makes me expect far too much of the mod.
But then again it might be just as awesome as I expected from the waiting and everything will be good.

Also how many people follow this mod again?

Too many.

EDIT: 17,000 members in the Steam group + thousands more who have heard about the mod elsewhere

When I joined (A year and a half to 2 years ago) there were less than 10,000 members.

Wow, its nice to see such a big count of members) Do u imagine what its gonna be in a few month?

I doubt many more people will join the Steam group…
Unless you need to be in the Steam group to play the game!

Also keep in mind the number of guests. The online guests appear to frequently outnumber online members.

Currently Active Personnel: 87 (13 members and 74 guests) :awesome:

Like me, for instance. I don’t like the Orkut-like part of Steam. I don’t even use it to navigate the Store, I rather use my own Internet browser.

Yet you still felt the need to link your forum account here with your steam id…

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
