Your utter lack of humility is astounding. Not only do you proudly advertise yourself as “The Emperor of DS Homebrew”, you tout your own crappy knockoff of Game Maker for the DS like it was crapped out by Thor and forged by Hephaestus (it’s so cool, it even mixes mythologies!). Seriously, I’m rather surprised that your intense aura of hubris hasn’t killed or at least maimed anyone who has had the misfortune to stumble across your thread.
However, the odium I hold doesn’t stop there. I don’t like you and I don’t like what you’re doing with your shitty software. Not only does your website layout molest the eyes with the fervor of a serial child rapist, your graphics rip off so many other products no sane lawyer will defend you in the event of a lawsuit. Using iframes stopped being cool around 1996. I’m honestly really hoping that you coded most of that website yourself, my man, because whoever wrote that steaming pile really needs to be shot in both kneecaps and handed a book on CSS. I find it hilarious that on your forum page you include a style sheet, but also feel the pressing need to include the “style” element in your tags. A small Socratic morsel of advice: Take a wild, crazy, off the mark, shoot-from-the-hip guess as to what problem linkable CSS files were supposed to solve.
Still, what I find most ironic is that your game maker that lets you make, and I quote, “everyone elses’ games possible”, is stolen code. Honestly, if you’re truly fifteen, you could not have coded that using only your code. I’m a rather good coder myself, and at sixteen I was still figuring out how the fuck to make WinSock sockets nonblocking. And before you give me your tired “IT’S ALL MY CODE AND I R FIFTEEN STFU NOOB” spiel, you need to reread some of the threads on your own forums. Yes, I took a quick look, and you have people in your OWN FORUMS complaining about how you took code directly from other OPEN SOURCE DS libraries and DID NOT credit them. Even if you weren’t a pompous ass strutting around these forums I would still mentally crucify you for violating one of the most basic and simple laws of FOSS.
Hell, even if you didn’t blatantly brush the GPL to the wayside, I would still hate you. Why? Because you’re everything that’s wrong with the gaming industry. You’re taking an old game, an old classic loved by many, no less, and saying “Wow. I really liked that game! I’m sure that if I recreate all of the graphics at one eighth the resolution, surgically remove most of the gameplay until it is more crippled that a mutilated torso sitting in a wheelchair, reduce the soundtrack’s bit rate to about, oh, two, remove all of the voice acting, and throw it all together with some shitty code I pieced together by stealing from other people, I’ll have a masterpiece on my hands! I’M A GENIUS!” Christ, I couldn’t think of logic more skewed than that if I worked for the Ministry of Truth. And to preempt your inevitable “ZOMG IT WILL BE AMAZIN JUST U WAIT I R AWESUM”, I can’t imagine you producing anything of quality when you combine your incredibly dubious coding “skills” with the restrictions of the DS. Enjoy trying to make something remotely playable with half of the minimum processor requirement and one sixth of the minimum required memory, not to mention the severe deficiencies in controls.
In all honesty, every time I picture you in my head I get this freaky image of a retarded Ernst Blofeld stroking his massive e-penis instead of a Persian. Seriously, don’t pervert the Black Mesa vision by posting your bilge and spreading your smarm over the project. Don’t associate yourself with these people. They’re working to recreate a classic in a better engine from scratch. You’re trying to recreate a classic with some faux 3D sprites that, for some strange, enigmatic reason, look like you took code from DOOM, copy-pasted a picture of a vortigaunt in there and then you try to pass it off as greatest game ever made for any portable platform anyone will think of ever.
You opened this thread with “This is not a noob thread.”, which I find ironic. Everything you write exudes the stench of “noobishness”. You posts are riddled with grammatical errors, you refuse to accept that you aren’t the world’s greatest coder and haven’t made the greatest contribution to the DS platform.
So please, pull your head out of your ass, read some books on C and assembly (WHOA! Guess what?! The DS uses ARM9 assembly as an integral part of its games! I’m willing to bet money you had no idea!), and come back when you’re willing to admit you aren’t god’s gift to coding.
