Left 4 dead vs HL2 ep3

Now this may have been talked about already on here (sorry if it has i just signed up) but i am curious as to how other half life enthusiasts feel about valve devoting seemingly all of there time to the Left 4 Dead series, releasing parts one and 2 less than 2 years apart and giving us absolutely NO WORD on ep3… I dont know about you guys but I really do not think Left 4 Dead is worthy of putting the half life episodes on hold… It is a decent game yes and we all know it can be GREAT training to spruce up some techniques for our zombie plans (which i hope you all have in order) and i do LOVE the dismemberment that is able to occur in Left 4 dead 2, but i feel like valve really is wasting their time on that series simply because it is a much easier game to produce and they can make quick money on it. Just my opinion, what do you guys think?

L4D1&2 didn’t put Half-Life on hold. They’re made by completely seperate teams.

The way Valve works means that they can continue work on Episode 3 while working on other projects; I don’t really mind that they’re making other games, it’s nice to see them working on something other than just Gordon Freeman and his Crowbar. If they only concentrated on that they would be brain dead within a few months and create generic games like other large games companies do.

I believe that Valve can work on more than one game at a time. They were working on the Half Life 2: Episode 2 and released Portal and Team Fortress 2 in one fell swoop (Orange Box).

I wonder if they’ll release Left 4 Dead 3 with Half Life 2: Episode 3 and Portal 2 all in one package. They could call it “The OMFG Box”.

Left 4 dead is so much better than half life, I think they should just ditch half life altogether and make zombie games.

Missed the massdebating hell by a bit there, boyo.

If they made the zombies into fast headcrab zombies then HELL FUCKING YES.

They’d be like Bungie and IW, amirite?

I think the devs should ditch the Black Mesa mod and go with Zombies Ate My Neighbor: Source.

I would play it.

I.W is awesome

help i have been expelled from the boner academy

Valve is a company, they divert resources to what will make them the most money. Because of this I fail to understand why so much time is being wasted on TF2 updates.

So… that’s where you went on your out of country trip…

These things happen. Not to worry Nutsack: No doubt the gynecologist Society of Ninja midgets will gladly accept you. What fun! Just watch out for throwing stars and such.

lol off topic or wut
Ep3 ftw

If they did that, i believe getting on my knees would be in order.

And i did not know they were made by separate teams, learn something new every day. haha I still say all resources for the time being should be directed at ep3 as i am still pissed about and cant get the last images of ep 2 out of my head…

I don’t even need to check your steam page to know you don’t own TF2.

He does not.

Might as well get out of these forums right now.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
