Hi. I found an upcoming left 4 dead mod a while ago and I started helping the creators out by posting my ideas and such and I thought I should share the mod with you people.

As far as I know there’s no moddb page and such but this will serve enough.
It’s a standalone mod meaning you can get it without having Left 4 Dead.
Well,look around in the site and such and post your opinions about the mod down below and I’ll read them.
The Left 4 Dead code is not available…so how can you mod it?
I’d laugh if you say they are going to recode it all…
It cant be a server plugin as that would be a counter argument toward what you said, “you can get it without having Left 4 Dead.”
I sense this project is doomed to fail…
laugh as much as you want but they did recode it all and they are now balancing it out. In other words:they aren’t going to but they are almost done.
It’s a mod with a storyline and all other stuff. It can’t be server plugin in the first place.

Call me sceptical, but three people working on a total recoding of a game, making it standalone and with a new ‘spoof’ storyline sounds a little far fetched. Plus, that wiki barely contains enough information for this to be considered an announcement - it feels more like a very, very rough concept.
considering it’s already being playtested I don’t think it’s that much of rough concept.
But I can understand people feel sceptical. I was sceptical the first time I read the wiki and such. But I now email idea’s to them and basicly work on the mod.

The AI director alone could never be rebuilt to be the same, and the code optimisations to reduce bandwith usage are probably not going to be usable either.
Indeed. My hypothesis is that they’ve taken a whack of code from L4D, and have merely recoded ‘some’ of it. Given the lack of released media, and the insubstantial team-makeup (vis. a complete recode with THREE people? Pull the other one! (Given that it’s only been out for less than a year, and the editing tools, less than 6 months)), all but confirm my suspicions. Still it will be interesting to see how this entire thing works out.
L4D code was not released, thus they would have to recode everything…
Just on a note,Left 4 Dead eleventy gameplay is FAR from L4D. It’s a mixture of Resident evil,Fallout and Left 4 Dead. Oh and there’s much MUCH more gore in this mod. But you can change the settings to Puke-ish to Wuss-ish(no offence though to people who don’t like gore).
How is it a L4D mod if you don’t need L4D?

Because it mostly uses elements from Left 4 Dead. But I didn’t call it a Left 4 Dead mod so don’t blame me.
Ohh, I get it. They’re making a game using the Source engine(?) and since they didn’t want to create all of the assets themselves, they decided to use L4D stuff.
Not really all that impressive if you ask me.

They did that because the story is involved with the infection that causes all those vampires in L4D(yes I call them vampires,be happy). Plus they also have a lot of things NOT from left 4 dead.
