Last minute suggestions?

Hey guys.
Recently, my computer exploded (quite literally, in fact) so I needed a new computer :b

I’ve pretty much got all my parts down, which is going to come out to about 900 bucks (Which is quite a steal, for what i’m getting)

I just wanted to see if you guys see any problems with what i’m buying, whether it be compatibility issues, personal opinion on the parts, or even suggestions as to what i should buy instead. Feedback is a must guys.

Theres no hard drive because i have an external 2tb that im going to strip open and put right in.

tl;dr Rate the parts i’m buying, and give suggestions to improvement.

EDIT: if you have suggestions as to different parts to buy, giving me the priice on newegg (US version) is preffered, because thats where im buying everything.

The only thing I can say is its a bit of shitty time to buy a new pc atm as the new amd cpu’s are out soon and with that intel will drop prices/bring out new cpu’s. The 2600K’s are cheap over here, wish I waited and got one of these.

But if you have no pc then what can you do…

Yea, i heard about that, but I really need a computer, and if anything, i’ll sell the cpu and buy a new one i guess?

So other than that, the parts are good, yes?

Everything looks ok. But are the 2600k’s not cheap for you, better than the 965.

the 2600k is $340 -____- I think im gonna stick with the 965 d:

It works out at about £227 = $367 for it. Damn I thought that was a good price. :stuck_out_tongue:

The phenom i posted will get almost the same done, and 140 dollars, That’s what you call a good price :b

no

The phenom runs at 3.4, and can OC to about 3.7-3.8 (Which is why im buying the heatsink) Plus it’s a quad core, making the only real measurable difference being the 8 mb l3 cache vs the amd’s 6 mb cache

How can’t it almost get the same done??

edit: And wait, the phenom’s got a 4 x 512 kb l2 cache, with the i7 2600k running 4 x 256 l2 cache… so i’m kinda not getting how they’re not super closely matched, if not the same o.o

I feel like someones gonna call me stupid on this :b

The EVGA Geforce 470 is a bit more expensive than the Radeon HD 6870 1GB, but comes with lifetime warranty, just in case, you know, your computer explodes.

As you may know already, the 2 cards are highly similar in performance.

hmm, i tihnk i’m, gonna stick with raedon, only because it’s a tiny bit cheaper, and a friend of mine has one that hasn’t let him down.
The warranty is great, but i know people who can fix/replace parts for a good price, thanks anyway though(:

You might need a more powerful power supply by about another 100w, but other than that looks decent.

Definitely a more powerful PSU, but other than that looks good  I don’t personally have much experience with AMD (last one I had was a K7/Athlon, since then its been Intel  ) so I can’t really comment on that, but I can say that XFX is a good graphics card brand to go for, I’ve always bought my cards from them (they’ve always been GeForce chipsets though not ATI, but still, good company).

I stick to Intel and GeForce and I’ve never had any problems

Also, if you talk about OC, the 2500k can’t be beaten by any amd processor.

lol! Intel vs Amd boners. Personally I have an old Phenom 940 black edition, and considering that Amd are usually cheaper it was a good buy. Also, I’m sure we can throw figures around, about which have the most cache or which runs hotter etc… Even with my old phenom I can run everything that’s gonna come out for the next year. The Crysis days are over my friends. Pc will now follow xbox lead graphx. As for your parts, I’d say build that sucka!

Furthermore, screw reviews! After Intel settled their lawsuit with Amd for muscling board vendors I wouldn’t place a lot of trust in what your local compu store guy or the interwebs is telling you. Its a conspiracy.
