Last Film You Saw

It’s never been like a life’s goal for me, just now and then I’ve thought it would be cool to do as a hobby - it was not my intention to add another full-time job to my schedule. It’s certainly not that important to me.

Lol yeah that was awful:

“But it’s not impossible because I did it.”
“But it WAS impossible! So how did you do it?!”

:fffuuu:

It almost seems like that is what people think of as indie games though: side scrollers, or at least some kind of 2D pixel art game. And unfortunately, there isn’t a whole lot to prove them wrong. There are relatively few 3D indie games. On a side note I am upset that Journey is only on PS3. It was one of the games featured at Video Games Live. It looked cool and the music was awesome. But I don’t want to buy another console just to play it. :[ But I could use a Blu-Ray player…

^ And you could always use Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted 2, Valkyria Chronicles, and Zone of the Enders HD collection, etc…

Saw Django this afternoon. That was fun. More nudity than I was expecting. A lot more male nudity…

It’s ironic because I want to make indie games that break the mold, but I’m stuck making a cliche 2D retro pixel art sidescroller that further perpetuates that image.

Saw “Zero Dark Thirty.” Somewhere between documentary and fictionalized history, but nonetheless gripping despite a lack of any distracting degrees of characterization or arcs. The film’s commitment to authenticity is it’s strongest suit.

id started by making a Mario clone, and went on the make some of the more revolutionary games at the beginning of the 3d boom. Don’t feel so bad about where you start in your explorations. Everyone has to start somewhere that someone has been before. Don’t feel embarrassed until you die and realize that you still haven’t done anything worth a damn

I’m on vacation so I watched some movies

Drive was great, if a bit slow in the beginning.

The Invention of Lying was pretty much total shit, save for a couple of gags.

I also watched the 2012 remake of total recall. It seemed cold and lifeless, like it was just going through the motions instead of trying to create some sort of empathy with the characters. (disclaimer: I haven’t watched the Arnold version).

Also, the cgi guys loved to cover every shot with a gross amount of lens flare. Don’t ask me why.

Same.

I think it was well done. It does drag a bit at certain points though.

I saw the Colin Farrell version first, then the Arnold Schwarzenegger version later. I like the new version quite a bit, and there are a number of things I like better about it than the old one, but one thing that stuck out as odd the most to me was that it was a very bloodless movie for the body count it had. I actually don’t like blood and gore, however I think there should have been either more blood or less violence, it looks mismatched. Of course, [color=’#151515’]given that a major point of the movie is that Quaid isn’t sure what’s real, it might be an intentional hint that it was all in his mind - he’s never killed people before so he probably wouldn’t imagine it completely realistically. In which case that would be interesting, but I think it’s more likely they just wanted a PG-13 rating.

Regarding the characters…I dunno, I feel like you were only supposed to sympathize with Quaid. Like you were supposed to imagine what he’s going through, trying to decide what’s real and what’s not, trying to figure out who you really are, etc. The other characters don’t matter so much, they’re mainly there to advance the plot and serve as the emotional connections for Quaid.

Watched “The Hunger Games” today. Anxiogenic, but definitely interesting. Worth watching.

It made you anxious?

I just got back from the Hobbit. Decent!

My biggest problem is in the near-invisible text: [COLOR=’#151515’]The goblins’ grammar is quite disconcerting, especially the Great Goblin. It was too perfect. They spoke like normal humans and it did not suit the look of the goblins. Ah well, it was good anyway.

Exactly. Felt too bad at the beginning for the poor girl.

Just saw Iron Sky.

That was actually pretty good. It was funny, and of course ridiculous, but also had a really nice dieselpunk art style and some neat battle scenes.

Also, I love how the Russian spaceship is just MIR.

I love how[COLOR=‘Black’] North Korea tried to take credit for the Nazi craft.

Just watched Blade Runner for the first time. I liked how it didn’t rely on action and how it included some moral questioning in there. It moved really slow, but it was pretty awesome nonetheless.

Which cut of the film?

my fav. cut of blade runner is definitely The Fifth Element

Devil. It wasn’t bad, but I don’t think I care to sit through it again.

The final cut i believe
