Kelly Bailey has left Valve?

Did he work on the hospital song in Ep 1? That one was dope.

Kelly Bailey made every track you hear in the HL series and also the majority of music in Portal.

And a lot of soundeffects.

Triage at dawn (or this remix) is extremely epic.

I suppose they will use HL1, HL2, EP1 and EP2 music for Episode three as they did in Half life 2.

(best are HL1 songs) On a completely unrelated note, this one as well… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9bkd4zoA7I&feature=related

I’m in mother fucker.

Penultimatum Is probably my favourite track of all the games…nuclear mission jam, apprehension and evasion and cp violation closely follow.

For anyone interested in Bailey’s departure from Valve, check out this interview with Mike Morasky: https://www.podcast17.com/interviews/audio/mike-morasky/

The discussion about Kelly Bailey starts at 00:26:10.

I was absolutely delighted to hear more than a hint of generative music in Portal 2*, which denotes everything but a lack of vision from Morasky and Feise. There’s no doubt audio and music are considered to be a major element at Valve so I’m totally optimistic with Bailey gone.

Still, I hope they’ll keep the uptempo synth themes of HL2, they were pretty original in a FPS and not half bad.

  • and disappointed that almost no one is talking about it, but that’s another story[/SIZE]

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
