ok so im not sure if this could be true but i read somewhere some time ago (don’t remember where) that the vortigaunts in HL1 was probably slaves because they were wearing those green shackles all the time and in hl2 they ain’t wearing them and they seem free and friendly unlike those from hl1. i haven’t played blue shift/opposing force/decay but in any of these games do we see how they get freed? or not at all?
Protip: Listen what the vortigaunts are saying in hl2.
Not in Opposing Force and Blue Shift anyway. Plus OF is not canon and BS is only… semi-canon?
8 years and the vorts are still questioned? This is madness.
Madness?
I’m sorry Wotzit, but you must be the least informed gamer in a long time. They weren’t “probably slaves” they WERE slaves! They weren’t originaly called vortiguants, their models where called Alien Slaves. And they were all “free and friendly” because Gordorn Freeman killed Nihilanth and freed them from him. As Keresh said, you should listen to the vortiguants in HL2 instead of running around just careing about the next thing you can kill. Read these quotes from the vortiguants:
-
" We bear witness to the bright eternity of the Nihilanth’s demise. You leap, you fall, we see you flash beyond the barriers."
-
“We remember the Freeman. We are coterminous.”
watch a youtube video of the singing vort in HL2
Any of these games.
Er…you can’t really call him on being careless for that. One, the vortigaunts speak in a pretty cryptic way. Two, that guy was hidden in a sewer drain that was hard to access to start with, and required you to rush through at full health.
Way to be a dick.
Yeah, yeah, you’re right. But I hate it when people make threads like these when you could find out the answer by simply going to the HL wiki.
