Jurasic Life

Deserves it’s own thread, it’s in alpha I guess, with more polish, Black Mesa has a competitor in terms of using the engine to it’s limits.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTPk4iO47RQ the sounds and animations (shotgun especially) suck.

I agree that the animations suck but that vid did bring me back to my younger days. I look forward to this one.

Dino Crisis/Turok eh?

Was Fakefactory not the one who took Source to its limits?
And if its an alpha it looks damn good.

That, but more importantly the movie Jurassic Park itself was pretty mind blowing to me when I was younger, still one of my favorites.

Looks good for an actual dinosaur mod. But it seems like a work in progress, and it needs way more work for it to be perfect.

In all seriousness, I’d say the City 17 mod (currently on hold but still) is the most technically impressive source mod out there in terms of breaking through the engine’s shortcomings.

I would like to see a mod that is as ambitious as Trespasser was

why must you remind me of the game that probably would have been my favorite game of all time

But Trespasser was pretty much a failure. A non-commercial project that’s equally ambitious would be doomed from the start.

Trespasser was a failure because of how half-assed and unfinished a lot of the game was, not because it was ambitious

Were they to be so ambitious, these guys wouldn’t need to make an engine from scratch, and wouldn’t have to worry about computers with processors under 1Ghz for physics simulation

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
