There have been various Japanese Role-Playing video games that have been around. List the ones that you once played before or known.
So far, the best one in my opinion is Final Fantasy 7.
The best I have ever played: Grandia 2.
Far greater than any Final Fantasy I have laid hands on.

I don’t see to group japanese RPG’s as the only requirement is for it to be a japanese game they don’t all have similar gameplay either.
Ohh Grandia 2, such a nice game, surprisingly also avaliable for PC…Way too good action rpg
You have the YS games…there’s a whole saga, avaliable for PC, with their respective english patches…
Breath of Fire 4 for PC (no emulator)

been a while since i played a jrpg as you called it, alot of them prove to be very repetive and boring the key to 'em is a good story. FF4 (Soley because every hour someone scarficed themselves, was funny but very irrating), 8 and 9 are amongst my favourites, I know many will disagree but I really enjoyed them. Another one that hit me by suprise was a suprinsgly cheap game on the PSX, where you had guaridan pet monsters, it was like pokemon but cheaper but better if that makes sense… Oh and Grandia was good if not a little boring at time
My favourite was FF7 (No suprise and as boring as that it is) and Chrono Trigger

I think I gotta agree. FFIX just has a certain charm about it that no other FF has been able to capture for me. I really love the shit out of that game.
Maybe it’s cause it’s the first FF I ever played.
