Cool, the guy has a brain. I don’t think Id Software has a bright future ahead of them. Borderlands pwned Rage, Doom 4 nowhere to be seen… nothing impressive from them since Doom 3.
Borderlands wasn’t even remotely the same kind of game as rage. Rage was actually a shooter where as Borderlands was a loot collection game with guns you happened to shoot.
woah that is a big kick in the nuts… But time to move on to pastures new… Doom 4 will be ok on ID TECH 5 it’s just later on down the line will the engine fade into dust and not keep cutting edge.
Carmack hasn’t left id software btw. In fact, he’s dividing his time between id, Armadillo Aerospace and Oculus.
Yeah, I think he said that he would still work at Id, but just much less than he used to.
