iPad

That, and their machines still technically supported floppy disks via external USB drives, which were available long after the format was “killed”.

stop putting netbooks in the same category as laptops. They are underpowered and only work for basic tasks. Just like the iPad.

Nintendo guy said iPad is just a bigger iPod Touch.
What people wanted was a real tablet computer with Mac OS X on it. Not some iPhone OS+tablet addons.
Apple doesn’t listen to the market. that means epic fail usually. It’s like this: Apple dictates what the market wants, not the other way around. Thats why they still haven’t made a workstation mac and instead force people to buy a overpowered/overpriced Mac Pro when they want something slightly better than an iMac.

This is the reason people get crazy and build a Hackintosh. And this will be the only way to get a iTablet. Buy a PC Tablet and put Mac OS X on it yourself, then hack it to support a touch screen.

Do you consider CNET an accurate source for articles?

Ever heard of the nVidia ION chipset?

Ok let me try this again. “I WISH MY IPHONE WAS TOO BIG FOR MY POCKET AND COULDN’T MAKE CALLS!”. I honestly think this thing is ruining apple’s rep even though I don’t particularly like apple anyways. :3

At first…

After reading more about it… :’(

Apple still isn’t listening to what people really want.

There is still no Multi-Tasking, still no fucking flash, and no 16:9 aspect ratio.

“i just love the over priced and over sized ipod touch that does almost nothing new!”

P.S. I might just have considered it if there was at least flash support. >_>

I like the fact this thread is still going, for me, the iPad has come and gone already.

Hahaha. You fucking spaz! Yeah, apple so decided that floppys are obsolete. Not that face that CDs hold 700MB and a floppy holds 1.44MB. You really are thick as shit.

Yesterday I used backtrack to crack two WEP keys for a friend, after that I opened VNC to check if anyone talked to me on MSN or Steam, then I played a bit of gungame on CS Source (with a mouse and keyboard) then I opened firefox while winamp was playing online radio and watched funny flash videos on failblog for a good 45 minutes cuz I was stoned, then I went home and watched a 720p h264 movie out of my 200gb collection while downloading a torrent.

What do you think I used, an iPad or a Netbook?

First of all lower your voices! who you think u talkken at?.. k im not akshulli that passionate about it but yeah, this kind of device is exactly perfect for people like my parents.

They like my ipod touch and they have learned how to browse the web with it, play little games etc. They aren’t tech heads, far from it, but its easy to use and accurate touch interface allowed them to pick it up quick. However this isnt very good for a main device for doing things like web browsing, email etc. on the other hand they are always using my laptop to browse the web etc…

Its not worth it for them to buy a full laptop because they will only browse the web or take notes, play games etc. Yet the Ipod touch has such a little screen and isnt very convenient to sit there and browse the web with etc… come to think of it i sound exactly like Steves Keynote presentation… Its the in between machine.

As you so keenly observed, the price is redingdongdilculous. But im sure apple already knows this. They surely intentionally set the price higher so that when they add new features in a year or two they can additionally lower the price. This will force all first gen users who bought the product for 500 bucks to rebuy it for the upgraded features… which some will…

Then again there could be an incredibly fascinating scenario where continues rambling for the next few hours and passes out

Some people buy a quad-core full-hd laptop with a crossfire graphics card and blu-ray burner just to take notes in notepad.

Or you could buy a dual core 13" laptop with 2gigs of ram and a 250gb hdd for less than 500$ from any popular computer shop.

Since you’re not wasting money, why throw away the features?

Any post that begins with this is not worth reading.

Anyway, my opinion is pretty much the same that’s been posted already. It’s a giant fucking iPod Touch.

Also, 500th post! Woot.

And what’s so wrong with a giant iTouch? Just because you’ve got a standard sized one doesn’t mean you wouldn’t want a bigger one. Imagine if someone offered you a bigger penis; would you say “oh no, I don’t want that because I already have a smaller one that does all the same things”?

Your argument, particularly your analogy…is just plain stupid.

In the case of technology, if you can have the same power but smaller…you will want that. Also the iPad is over 3 times the cost of a single iPod Touch.

It’s like if I offered you a massive phone, exactly like your old phone but larger. Would you be willing to pay for it?

Oh I was just being camp, but there are certain things you want bigger rather than smaller  (phones not being one of them).

An iPod not being one of them as well.

Some things they say are right.

lol, ION? so what. a netbook is still underpowered for my needs. when opening the frigging control panel in Windows 7 takes more than 1 second it is too slow for me.
I will never put it in the same class as a laptop no matter what you say. Get that slow dead beat Atom CPU out of it and maybe we can talk.
Maybe the new iteration of Atom codename “Pine Trail” CPUs might make it usable finally, I haven’t seen any benchmarks yet.
I myself got a Celeron laptop and it’s far more usable than any netbook for sure.
At least doing basic tasks like opening a folder window or the control panel doesn’t involve me having time to take a sip of coffee and take a bite.

Also I can bash netbooks all I want without putting it in the same class as the iPad. The iPad might actually work because it uses a optimized operating system for the type of CPU it uses. But in terms of features it is even worse.

Also netbooks with the ION chipset have less battery life again so it really defeats the purpose.

Optimised as in Apple didn’t include multi-tasking otherwise the CPU would explode?

Why would you install Windows 7 on a netbook? Oy…
