Invalid Display Settings

Hi, i was doing an English assignment on microsoft Word 2007.
I was dealing with foreign language when i needed a “ü”. numlock was off when i pressed the required numbers for it (0252) but instead of holding Alt i held Alt Gr (dont know the difference).
After doing that my screen resolution went down automatically (screen flashed though). When i went to display settings, i got a message telling me that the selected graphics display driver cannot be used, and that its not compatible with this version of Vista.
After pressing ok, the resolution bar said -1 by -1 and i cannot move the bar. Colours is blank. anyone know how to increase the resolution, and get rid of the error message?

Have you tried to run in safe mode? Other wise try to press alt + ctrl plus 0 (zero) on the numpad. This should reset the display back to normal.

If this worked go to your desktop and right click>Graphic Options>Hot keys>Disable. That will keep the problem from happening again

thanks, it worked.

Gr means Greek. You can use it to write Greek letters. I’m not able to use it right now as a demonstration, probably because I’m using Windows (not in my PC), but in Linux in my PC it works. You can also use it to write ¹ ² ³ £ ¢ ¬ § ª º ° (which, in my keyboard, are written using the keys 1 2 3 4 5 [ ] and /).

That’s what usually happens when you try to use one abandoned and forgotten feature. You stumble upon another one.
