Hey guys, are there any plans for upcoming community events or a dev stream? I’d like to play some BMDM on some full server on the weekend… and some development news stream or a small gameplay Update for BMDM would be fkn great )
So I’ve been mega busy/traveling, unable to prep for a stream. The stream got caught in the Crossfire and completely got away from me. A massive apology on my part for not communicating that well.
Don’t fret though, I do have plans for upcoming streams, starting probably next Thursday? I might move to like, Friday or Saturday though, I’m not sure. Half depends on whats better for everyone, and what works better for me. Got some cool stuff in the pipeline. Keep an eye out on the usual channels and you’ll see when.
That all being said, Dev BMDM play weekend? I think that can be arranged.
Nice. I’m already looking forward to the stream I’m very excited to see your official crossfire version… I wonder if some of the old tricks will still be possible in BM. But even if the dimensons will be completely different, I guess it won’t be that bad. If spawns and itemplacement remain rather very faithful, the map will most likely PWN… And I like how you mention bhop
What was the recent livestream about? (what subjects?) (besides the new map, Crossfire) Anything about upcoming features / or new features confirmed / or prototype features for Black Mesa? Anything interesting you can tell me? Unfortunately, I missed the stream.[/size]
Please stop ending all of your posts with the equivalent of “please respond”. It’s super grating to read, and it really does nothing but make people way less likely to want to respond to what you’re writing. It’s the same on the Steam forums too. You also don’t need to bold all of your text. We’ll read your replies.
We’re very active on these forums, myself in particular. If someone has a useful response, dev team or otherwise, they’ll post it. We don’t willfully ignore people.
Joe and Jordan talked about Crossfire and the next update. You can already find more information about that stuff in the Crossfire dev blog and in this thread: What Happened to the Updates?
Never played or saw RocketLeague before… Stream was cool.
Personally I’d like to see you Stream Reflex from TurboPixel Studios. It’s a new competetive FPS in alpha stage (costs ~ 10 € on Steam Eearly Access), but it’s very well made and super playable already. Next update the devs want to add Capture the Flag. Maybe it was cool if you streamed Reflex in “1v1” or “atdm” in 2on2 or 3on3 (maybe on map bdm3, dp4, dp5 or thct2style) or Capture The Flag.
Or play some good Half-Life 1 Mod (for example escape from the darkness, halfquake, invasion, uss darkstar, todesangst, wanted, E.T.F., Afraid of Monsters, HL: Tactical Espionage Action or they hunger).
Are you still going to make advanced mapping tutorials? I would like to see a singleplayer mapping tutorial… with some tips how to add cool gimmicks to singleplayer maps and how to make enemies work perfect.
What else I would like to see is a modelling tutorial… Maybe for creating worldmodels in Blender or 3DS Max…
Or a basic tutorial how to create decent looking textures with Photoshop or Gimp.
Haven’t seen the latest stream of Unforeseen Consequences so not sure if you did this - but I would love to see a bit more mapping commentary eg. how the original areas looked and how they were changed, structural etc.
Can’t wait to see it on YouTube!
It’s all ideas that we’ve come up with and we’ll be planning them out. There’s a LOT of content that we can do now for the streams. Debating about making them a weekly thing now.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
