I just recently got a brand new Dell laptop with Windows 7, and not even a month after recieving it, my internet quit working. Now i have to use InPrivate just to go online. Games (like Half Life 2: Dthmtch and Steam in general) work fine online, its just the internet browser. any ideas? i really hate havin to use inprivate. i cant just click on internet anymore…
which browser are you using?

to the op, yeah, either chrome or firefox will be a far better choice than ie.
Cant use firefox, my school is online and some parts dont support firefox. ill give chrome a try though.
start, iexplore, tools, internet options, connections, lan settings. uncheck any proxy settings, if that doesn’t work find the network connections folder and in your lan adapter options set tcpip ipv4 to use dns server 208.67.222.222 and second one 208.67.220.220 restart internet exploder and try again

in internet explorer… if you end up at google, you have a DNS issue. sersoft’s suggestion should fix that… the dns servers he listed are from OpenDNS, which is way more reliable than what ISP’s usually provide.
