Im sad, I cant play BM

My PC cant handle Source engine … I have downloaded TF2 and everything on low settings still its 15-20 fps … even Alien Swarm on low settings is 15-20 fps and its unplayable :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

Holy shit how is that even possible. It’s like you’re using the internet on a graphing calculator.

Source is literally a shiny version of idTech 2

15-20 FPS isn’t unplayable.

Sure, it’s lower than you’d want it to be, but it’s far from unplayable, trust me.

fps games require at least 30

If you have a constant 20 it should be fine. It’s most likely fluctuating.

id tech 1 with a few lines from id 2

20 when theres nothing on screen, 15 when theres something happening … i cant play sniper in tf2 with 15 fps

It doesn’t use the Doom engine. Or the Wolf 3d engine. Or the Commander Keen engine. (which one of those is considered id Tech 1? I’m too lazy to research this)

Considering your eyes see at around 24,

As I said, it is preferable to have above 24 constantly, but it in no way breaks the game completely as you suggest. I would say that point is at around 5 fps. Unless you’re playing multiplayer, in which case you want to lose as few frames as possible.

Id tech 1 was doom, Quake 1 engine has it’s own independent title of Quake engine.

Why don’t you invest in some new parts for your computer. If you posted your specs here there would definitely be wise enough people to guide you on the cheapest and most efficient parts; I have seen it done here before.

I would come here before I went to a professional any ol’ day of the week.

Your eyes can easily distinguish higher framerates from lower ones. 24 fps is popular because it creates a blur track to the human eye that’s similar to the motion blur we see in real life. The reason people like to play at higher frame rates is to not miss details in dropped frames. It’s more strategic than aesthetic.

Don’t worry about your shitty computer. You have YEARS to save up for a new one in time.

this web site can be played? :S

I WOULD LIKE TO MENTION
MOTHERFUCKER
THAT I PLAYED TF2 FOR OVER 100 HOURS
WITH NOTHING MORE THAN 15 FRAMES AVERAGE.
DON’T YOU DARE FUCKING SAY THAT ISN’T ENOUGH.

Well my PC is so low that even in hl1 when i turn on flashlight i got 10 fps

Are u sure there’s nothing on your computer that’s causing this? When i play i disable everything (antivirus, skype, msn etc) Did you try updating all your drivers and try setting your computer to run on best performance?

Dont mean to sound like an asshole or troll but saying ‘how crappy your pc is’ isn’t going to fix the problem. Its going to take a while for BMS to be released so you still have time to save up and buy new computer parts (or maybe a whole new computer). Just ask the people here the recommended configuration + the brand name, for a new computer hardware and then go to https://www.newegg.com and buy everything that is said. Its that simple and easy. The only hard part is saving up the money :stuck_out_tongue:

When hes got such framedrops in hl1, then its impossible for him to play TF2. Sounds like trolling.
I mean, he could post his hardware setup, so everyone could decide whats the best way to improve his performance. But he doesen’t.

My god, what are you running on? A Pentium III soap box? Stop whinging, man up and get a better computer.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
