Man, me too. There’s a mod for L4D from fpsbanana to turn the M-16 into an M41A. Installed it and then just turned the pitch up in the settings, added a little variance…got it almost exactly perfect. So much fun to use against waves of zombies.

That’s the part you’ll never get. Even at a critical stage of finishing Aliens, James Cameron was in the sound booth, dicking around to get that sound effect just right. I don’t think they sell M1A1’s with a phaser pedal (to get a submachine gun with that Eddie van Halen sound lol) attached to them. An extra reason to want to see Aliens: Colonial Marines finished and released.
