Ideas for a CSS map

The only people who still play CSS play De_Dust2 and Office, make a map for another game

Now, I wouldn’t say that. I usually go on for the custom maps. Try to play anyone on either of those two maps, and I’d die in two seconds. It’d be worse than Call of Duty.

In fact, the custom content, including skins and maps, is the only reason why I still play CS:Source. Without it, I would’ve burned out a long time ago.

Well, play QL first, then start playing CSS. You won’t burn out that fast.

Most likely because you will burn out permanently from playing QL.

Let me give you some tips

Some of the ways I come up with idea’s is browsing images on google earth
Not only do I learn things from it too, but I familiarize myself with new places

Remember the CSS community is slowly dying away, if you think about it the community was much bigger 1-2 years ago

People want new themes, and balanced maps
I can’t even stand CS_OFFICE, that map is boring
Also make the maps feel alive, and moving, add a moving car, some water dripping, birds in the sky etc.
Use high resolution textures with quality normal maps 1024 x 1204 or higher

Make your own new content, models, textures etc.

Make a Quake 3 based map

This kind of thing was in CSS maps. Not sure about water dripping, but there was steam.

Please forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is QL?

Necro. But ah well.

QL is short for Quake Live, a free to play browser based FPS, developed by id software, and is about 99% similar to Quake 3, but with no mods except HUDs, and with no gore. It’s currently replaced Q3 as a Quakecon official game.

That’s what I was figuring, but I wasn’t sure. My best guess would have been Quake Lite.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
