I will never get to enjoy this game.

I’ve given up on trying to get this game to work. Steam on both of my laptops is shoddy, SDK Source took me a month of trying to download with the constant message “Steam servers are currently too busy to handle your request” until recently it somehow worked (I tried changing my location but that never fixed it), then Black Mesa would give me the message “This game is currently unavailable” whenever I tried to open it. I updated drivers, reinstalled the game several times, rebooted, and now I tried reinstalling SDK Source… and I’m getting the “Steam servers are currently too busy to handle your request” message again (Goddamn SDK Source can’t be downloaded any other way?). I’ve given up on trying to get it to work.

Tell me, what exactly am I missing out on?

Try the steps here.

You would be missing out on one of if not the greatest mod ever made.

Sorry that Steam doesn’t work so well on low-end machines, but if you are having issues to that degree while downloading it then I wish you luck trying to run it when it lags on machines that are far above-average in places.

I’d recommand waiting until you had access to or were able to get a better machine so you could enjoy it. I understand that isn’t always an option for people. I know it isn’t for me; My pc has a ticking death clock.

Sadly I have already followed those steps.

I’d say my new laptop (that I bought as a result of the Steam Summer sale) is above-average in performance. My last one could hardly run the original Red Orchestra. And if somehow I could get the game to work, I have 10 days until I leave for a 6 year commitment…

Then running the game should be no problem. You sure it isn’t having trouble with your service provider?

if you’re really motivated to get it running you can get a steamless version from many sources

What are the specs of your rig?

Also, the best BM download is the torrent. It’s the most stable and doesn’t have incomplete files like some of the other mirrors.

What’s this? Please, do explain.

  1. Reinstall the Steam
  2. Hopefully ur using a legal account and no cracks
  3. Change your internet connection provider
  4. Try with a different operating system
  5. Play it at ur friend’s place
    6 Download a demo

    .
Lulz, just kidding “_” everyone knows that there’s no full version yet, so we’ve got a demo, basically … (no Xen) :fffuuu:

no official mirrors have incomplete files:

I assume you live in China where Google is blocked.

Dotard… I am confused… I thought you refused to play BM until Xen was complete… and not a moment before.

Couldn’t hold myself. And I’m glad to have played it already, even though the overall impression might not had been as good as it would if I did wait for the full release.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
