I remember reading my Blue-Shift manual not too long ago...

There were 5 different shifts.

Blue - used = B. Calhoun as main protagonist.
Green - unused = Not sure.
Yellow - used = K. Camon as main protagonist
Red - unused = Could this have been gordon’s role?
Purple - unused = Or this one?

I wonder if the rest of those shifts will be used for mods…

No.

Green = opposing force?
Green = Decay IIRC

But I might be wrong, as i have no idea what you’re talking about.

Just something stupid…

im going to make a mod: half life: brown note. makes u poop

You have to call it “Brown shift” to go with the HL:BS naming style.

i thought it just needed to be a science term and brown note is basically one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_note

Another one of those “We have sunk low and have run out of things to talk about” threads.

Joebama I do not remember such a thing from any manual. (But I must admit my blue shift cd did not come with a manual) Do you have more info on this theory or did we dream it up?

I know about that term but I think it’s just as funny without it.

Colored shifts represent a certain period of the day. If you work blue shift, you work whatever Barney was supposed to. You work green, you work the shift after that. Yellow, etc. It is indeed in the manual but no real HL fan could make a mod out of it considering the Resonance Cascade happened DURING the blue shift.

The things I miss because I haz no manual.

I knew this thread would just get a “cool story bro” response, love you guys.

just to prove it to you guys, i’ll upload a picture of the page that has the different shifts on it.

I’m pretty sure they were just different shifts for workers - why would a mod about a guard just guarding BM during a shift where absolutely nothing happened be interesting?

Maybe the different shifts meant different areas of the facility, or different jobs inside the facility?

hmm. i thought the shift colors implied what sector you were stationed in…barney was working in blue sector (marked as sector C on the BM tram map).

Its actually times and sectors.

Based on the times I suppose you could make a Red Shift or Yellow Shift.
But the locations in the picture don’t match up with the sectors on the wiki:

Needless to say, both locations (Admin Offices and Dormitories) were already made into HL Decay. Thus invalidating any good reason to make them into a separate mod.

EDIT:
Also interestingly enough, apparently Barney has a girlfriend named Lauren.

edit: already explained.

Red Shift is the only one that’s a physics pun though.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
